📢💡Our Efficient Data Centre Call for Solutions is now open.

AI and cloud are expanding data centres at an unprecedented pace, straining grids and adding pressure on water, land and materials.

This is not just an environmental question but one of industrial competitiveness, sovereignty, and security. Whoever solves efficiency first gains a structural advantage and AI is as much part of the solution as the pressure it creates.

Convinced that energy efficiency is the fastest, most cost effective lever of the transition, the Solar Impulse Foundation is launching its first call for solutions across the data centre value chain.

We are looking for proven solutions that 👇:
▪️Reduce the energy and water used for cooling
▪️Lower the energy intensity of computing
▪️Recover and reuse waste heat
▪️Cut the land and carbon footprint of construction
▪️Extend asset lifespans and advance circularity
▪️Optimise renewable energy and grid integration

An independent jury will select select the most promising and impactful solutions. Each will be connected with the operators, investors and policymakers who can deploy them at scale, through business matchmaking, investor pitching, a fast track to the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label and visibility at events such as VivaTech , Andre Loibl and COP.

Applications are free and close on December 11th, 2026. Submit your solution 👉 link in bio.

Thank you to our partners Bouygues Construction, UM6P, Région Île-de-France and our supporters France Datacenter, SDEA , Wind Capital , Tencent , World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), IVADO and Techleap | Big Ideas Build The Future for backing this call.

Decarbonising aviation means rethinking every part of the system:

✈️ Aircraft — new structures and architectures for planes and drones.
🔋 Energy & Propulsion — from sustainable fuels to certified batteries and hydrogen systems, the technologies that power flight.
🖥️ Air Traffic Management — optimising flights in real time to cut fuel consumption in the air.
🛫 Airport Infrastructure — decarbonising runways and terminals on the ground, with zero-emission technologies.

Our call for efficient aviation solutions was built around these four categories and only 13 solutions were selected among the many candidates.

⚡ Ports, construction sites, remote infrastructure: much of the world still runs on diesel generators. Noisy, polluting, expensive, and hard to decarbonize.

Neology replaces them with zero-emission power. Using ammonia cracking, it converts ammonia into hydrogen on demand, right where the power is needed, and feeds a fuel cell that generates clean electricity with zero CO₂ at the point of use.

This is why it is one of 10 solutions selected for the Global Impulse Program 2025–2026, a Solar Impulse Foundation initiative supported by the State of Vaud (SPEI) to scale clean, profitable innovations from the region.

🛥️ Boats, aircraft, wind turbines,,... when composite parts crack, they’re usually replaced, not repaired...

CompPair created a composite that heals its own damage.

This is why it is one of 10 solutions selected for the Global Impulse Program 2025–2026, a Solar Impulse Foundation initiative supported by the State of Vaud (SPEI) to scale clean, profitable innovations from the region.

rethinks how crop protection is applied. 👇

Instead of spraying entire fields whether plants need it or not, it treats every plant individually, cutting chemical use by up to 95%.

Compatible with any tractor and already deployed across Europe, ARA by Ecorobotix is proving that efficiency and profitability go hand in hand.

This is why it is one of 10 clean and profitable solutions selected for the Global Impulse Program 2025–2026. An initiative launched by the Solar Impulse Foundation and supported by the State of Vaud (SPEI) to accelerate the international expansion of innovative solutions born in the region.

♻️ Glass fiber composites are strong and durable. That is exactly what makes them so hard to recycle. But...

Verretex is now able to regenerate glass fibers instead of downgrading them. The result: 100% recycled material with the performance of new glass, and up to 80% less CO₂.

Already tested in wind energy, marine, automotive and sporting goods, Verretex, an EPFL spin-off, is proving that recycled and high-performance are no longer a trade-off.

This is why it is one of 10 solutions selected for the Global Impulse Program 2025–2026, a Solar Impulse Foundation initiative supported by the State of Vaud (SPEI) to scale clean, profitable innovations from the region.

Instead of hauling excavated material to landfill, ExoSol by Terasol rethinks what happens to the earth dug out of construction sites.👇

It transforms excavation on site into a living, fertile substrate ready for planting, eliminating up to 90% of truck journeys and cutting transport costs in half. One cycle that greens cities while protecting the agricultural soils that feed us.

Already deployed across construction and urban landscaping projects in Switzerland, ExoSol by Terasol is proving that cutting waste and cutting costs go together.

This is why it is one of 10 clean and profitable solutions selected for the Global Impulse Program 2025–2026. An initiative launched by the Solar Impulse Foundation and supported by the State of Vaud (SPEI) to accelerate the international expansion of innovative solutions born in the region.

✈️ Behind Solar Impulse, there were 150 people.

They conceived, designed, built and tested it. They kept it safe on take-off and landing, sheltered it from winds and weather through 17 stages across five continents. They ran mission control from Monaco, staying in permanent contact with the pilot, managing weather forecasts, overflight clearances, and the thousand unforeseen events that a round-the-world solar flight throws at you.

And beyond the technical team: 80 committed partners who financed the adventure, and a communications team that brought the story to millions.

Solar Impulse was never just Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg. It was every engineer, meteorologist, logistics coordinator, and partner who made the impossible feel routine.

More than a project. A shared conviction that clean technology could change the world, and the courage to go and prove it.

Ten years later: thank you.
