Why Do Missions?
Why leave our family, our nation, our language, and go?
Sometimes this can be the question in our hearts. Yet it is there, in the discomfort of our yes, that the Lord’s heart begins to grow within us.
He opens our eyes to the beauty of His people—to every tribe and nation He created, to the sound of every language through which He speaks, and to the cultures in every corner of the world that reflect something of who He is.
In the eyes of those in need, we see Christ.
So why wouldn’t we go? Why wouldn’t we find a new family, make the place where we are sent feel like our own nation, let the love of God become our language, and keep trusting that His voice will guide our steps?
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”
