Jack Huang Announces Candidacy for President of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI)

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I am writing to inform you that I have officially submitted my Candidate Application for the position of President of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).

My involvement in equestrian sport has been shaped over many years through service at both national and international levels, including my work with the FEI as Vice President and Chair Regional Group VIII, and the wider equestrian community. I’m also a show jumping rider and an accomplished entrepreneur. As someone who has been closely connected to the sport for many years, I have a deep respect for the FEI’s role in supporting equestrian sport around the world.

It is with that respect, and in accordance with the FEI Statutes and Election Regulations, that I now make this announcement of my intention to stand for election. At this stage, I wish only to state that intention and to proceed through the formal application process as required.

I am grateful for the encouragement and goodwill I have received from colleagues and friends across the equestrian community. I look forward to the FEI’s official announcement of candidates in due course.

Sincerely,

Jack

🇰🇾Dressage History for Cayman Islands and FEI Solidarity Success 🇰🇾

Sixteen-year-old Sierra Martin made history for the Cayman Islands aboard Giulietta, a 15-year-old Dutch mare, at the FEI Junior Tour at WEC, earning qualifying scores for the North American Youth Championships (NAYC).

This remarkable achievement marked the first time the Cayman Islands national anthem was played at an international Dressage Event.

Sierra’s journey and training began in the Cayman Islands through the support of the Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation and the FEI Solidarity Athlete Training Program, Sierra successfully competed through CDI competitions in Mexico City and Ocala, USA on borrowed and leased horses.

We congratulate Sierra and wish her the very best as the Cayman Islands prepares to make its proud debut at the 2026 NAYC!

🇨🇦 Mark Samuel to Run for FEI President 🇨🇦
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Under the detailed, dynamic, and visionary leadership of our President, Mr. Ingmar De Vos, the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) has rightfully earned its place among the leading international sports federations of the world. Now, after 12 years of his tenure, it is time to consider who is best suited to maintain and build upon the strong foundation that has been established. Today, I humbly announce my intention to be considered for that privilege and responsibility.

For those who may not know me, I look forward to the opportunity to introduce myself once the official campaign period commences this summer. Having enjoyed a successful business career, I am also a former High Performance Equestrian Athlete and a life-long volunteer who most recently served three terms as FEI Board member and seven years as FEI Vice President. I bring forward a proven track record of integrity, leadership, consensus-building, and experience.

I recently attended the 15th FEI Sports Forum in Lausanne. It was impressive to witness the strength of our community, the optimism for the future, and the willingness to engage constructively. Having the voice of our FEI youth present at this year’s event added a fresh and dynamic perspective that suggests that the future of our sport is in good hands. I also have very much appreciated the numerous confidential personal approaches regarding the Presidential role and the encouragement to put my name forward. I have therefore resolved that the most genuine and transparent approach is to convey my intention to stand for election to our Equestrian sport family. It would be an honour to bring forward my background, skills, and experience in service to the industry and horses that we love.

Going forward, I will be complying with the detailed application process and deadlines. In the coming months, I look forward to engaging in an active listening process and embracing constructive dialogue with all stakeholders regarding the future of the FEI and your priorities within that future. It is a time for all voices, great and small, to be heard, considered, and valued.

Thank you.
