Hannah uses a combination of intricate spirals to explore floorwork. With a softening of the core and relaxing of the nervous system, Hannah presents the notion of having arms that begin in deeper places than just the shoulder. This class looks at simplifying movement into clear pathways and facilitating a fast floorwork practice that can be enjoyed in a way that feels buttery, pure and safe. Hannah encourages a friendly working environment,
honest humbleness and a work-hard-play-harder energy.

Hannah Thomas (she/her) is a movement artist, performer and teacher, specialising in floorwork from the UK. Hannah is currently working with Joshua Monten Dance Company, based in Switzerland. In previous years, Hannah has performed with Wee Dance Company (Germany) and WomanEwer (UK). She has led company classes for a number of companies, including St. Gallen Dance Company, Ballet du Grand Theatre de Genève and Sydney Dance Company. Hannah graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (UK) in 2020 with a 1st Class degree in Contemporary Dance.

Acrodance and contemporary floorwork
technical but also experimental, creative

Mo 1. / Tu. 2. / We. 3. June 2026
Where: Tanzhaus Basel
Time: 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Language: English

During my classes and workshops, I share technical acrodance material combining soft acrobatics, floorwork, and contemporary dance vocabulary, alongside practices based on improvisation, movement research, and creative curiosity.
The main goal for me as a teacher is to create a space where participants can explore expressive and creative forms that open pathways towards a wider freedom of movement. Alongside acrodance technique, I work through tasks related to lightness, flow, imagination, body and gaze awareness, sharpness on and off the floor, simplicity and complexity in motion, and limitations as creative opportunities.

Davide Bonetti is a professional acrodancer and international guest teacher. He formed as an artist in two contemporary circus schools such as FLIC (Italy) and CNAC (France), where he specializes in a fluid approach to acrobatics, mixing floorwork, breaking, and contemporary dance.
Since 2019, he has taught internationally at: b12 (Berlin) for five consecutive years, Henny Jurriëns Studio (Amsterdam), Frei Art Festival (Freiburg), AreaDansa (Barcelona), PERA (Cyprus), Aterballetto (Reggio Emilia), CDSH (Hamburg), BlueBox (Vienna), and ZZT University of Dance (Cologne).

Contemporary Profitraining with Victoria Antonova

Explore, connect, translate

when: Tue 26.05. + We 27.05. 2026 time: 9:30–11:30 a.m.
where: ROXY Birsfelden
Language: English

This 2-day lab invites participants into a shared space of movement, perception, and exchange. Working across different bodies and experiences, we will explore how translation can become a creative and choreographic tool.
Day 1: We tune into body, space, and each other through tasks exploring translation from sensation to movement,
between bodies and from inner to external states. Drawing on inclusive dance practices, it opens multiple access
points to creation.
Day 2: Focus shifts to reflection and composition. I will share and test fragments from my solo called „A Hot Chick in the oven“ Were we will explore topics around how the body is being seen, questioned, and sometimes consumed.

Victoria Antonova is a Greek-Latvian performer currently developing her solo work. Her practice is rooted in inclusive dance and shaped by working across diverse artistic contexts. Through a disabled lens, she explores movement as a space of access, adaptation, and awareness, continuously redefining her relationship to the body and to dance.

Azusa’s ballet classes are for everybody, regardless whether they have a background in classic ballet or contemporary dance. She focuses on the individual bodies of the students and believes that each and every one of us is different. Her barre exercises are fairly simple and designed to help students to pay attention to their body and activate their own resources to be able to maximize their potential when we move on to the centre exercises.

Azusa is from Hiroshima, Japan. Her repertoire ranges from classical ballet to contemporary dance. She began her professional career in Europe in 2000. Since then she has been living in Zürich and works throughout Switzerland as a dancer, teacher and choreography assistant. Collaborating with artists from other fields as well, she has performed in operas, dance films, theater performances, music videos, commercial events and photo shoots.

where: Tuesday - Tanzhaus Basel, Horburgstrasse 103, 4057 Basel

My aim in Ballet class is to obtain a result by using visualisation: through using imaginary elements, rather than prioritising only the posture or the form of classical dance. Nowadays, dancers are exposed to different styles, so the purpose is to encompass all their needs in order to make them work with fluidity and awareness of how to use their weight. I also like to insist on putting the right energy in the right place, therefore, allowing them to avoid unnecessary tension. Musicality in class is an essential tool for giving the right nuances and freedom. It helps to give a vast choice of textures and qualities to their movement.

Born in Madrid and based in France (near Basel), I began my career with Victor Ullate Dance Company. I further developed my artistic experience working with companies such as Lyon Opera Ballet, the National Dance Company of Spain, the Norwegian National Ballet, and Theater Basel.
Since 2012, I have worked internationally as a freelance dancer, choreographer, rehearsal director, and teacher, collaborating with leading choreographers and companies worldwide. My choreographic works have received awards and have been presented in several countries across Europe. I continue to teach contemporary dance and classical ballet internationally.

The class will develop in three parts, a warm up inspired by Pilates to get joints and muscles ready in a heathy way, it will then develop into improvisation focusing on different qualities through guided tasks.
My focus with this is to bring out fluidity and range in movement as well as focus and presence while performing, I like to underline curiosity and give suggestions to finding new prospectives of how to approach movement. Improvisation tasks will be both for free solo dance as well and couple and group work.
The class will then end with some set material in order to practice performativity new qualities and discoveries in movement phrases and choreography.

Angela Demattè was born in Trento (Italy). She moved to the Netherlands, in Arnhem, where she graduated at ArtEZ Dansacademie with a major in dance and minor in choreography, it was also the beginning of her love for movement research and choreography.
Angela then joined the dance company BernBallett, she was a member of the company until Summer 2019. During her time there, she has worked with various choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Jo Strømgren, Club Guy and Roni, Ihsan Rustem, Po-Cheng Tsai, Nanine Linning, Etienne Bechard Kor’sia and others.
Since 2019 Angela is a freelance dancer, dance teacher and pilates instructor, mentor and dramaturg.
She has been working in Switzerland and abroad with several dance companies such as Kor’sia, Jo Strømgren Kompani, Joshua Monten Dance Company, greywax dance and others.
She has been teaching in several professional companies such as TanzLuzern, GTG, and training platforms in Switzerland and abroad.
