Das Tanzbüro Basel (Interessengemeinschaft Tanz Basel) ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein, der die Interessen der freien Tanzszene in unserer Stadt und Region vertritt. Das Tanzbüro Basel ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein, der die Interessen der freien Tanzszene in unserer Stadt und Region vertritt – sowohl auf kulturpolitischer Ebene als auch mit ganz praktischen Angeboten. Mit diesem Ziel wurde 1993 die Interessensgemeinschaft IG Tanz gegründet. 1999 konnte dann das Tanzbüro Basel, das erste Büro dieser Art in der Schweiz, am Claragraben als Informations- und Beratungsstelle und als Treffpunkt der regionalen Tanzszene eröffnet werden. Derzeit gehören rund 150 aktive Mitglieder und GönnerInnen dem Verein an.

This is a physical Contemporary Class, which will involve strong, complex and technical sequences in and out of the floor, focusing on quality, initiation, performance and stamina. Each session will begin with a different aspect of movement study, focusing on the articulation of hands, isolations, spirals, breath and flying. Improvisation will also be explored as part of self-development, stemming from
a physical intention.The desired outcomes for the workshop are to develop the dancers’ creative mind, driven from passion, determination, strength, musicality and most importantly an intention and honesty in whatever choice they make during the session.

Multi-award-winning Alleyne Dance is a contemporary dance company founded in 2014 by twin sisters Kristina and Sadé Alleyne. Their distinctive movement language blends Caribbean, Hip Hop and Kathak influences within a contemporary dance context, creating work that is athletic, rhythmic, dynamic and emotionally expressive. Alongside touring nationally and internationally, the company delivers
workshops, educational programmes and artist development opportunities. Kristina and Sadé are also internationally recognised choreographers, creating commissioned works for companies including Martha Graham Dance Company (USA), Tiroler Landestheater Ballet Company (AT), Phoenix Dance Theatre (UK) and 2Faced Dance Company (UK).

My class focuses on developing musicality, rhythm, clear alignment, and moving through space with confidence, purpose, and freedom. Alongside precision, I want dancers to experience the joy of dancing, where technique becomes a tool for expression rather than a limitation. Every dancer has a unique body, so the class supports an individual approach to classical technique. By exploring time, space, and movement, I aim to create a class where dance feels sustainable, fun, expressive, and alive.

David Lagerqvist is a Swedish performer from Stockholm, trained at the Royal Swedish Ballet School (2007–2010). He began his career at the Royal Swedish Ballet before joining Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, touring internationally. As a guest, he has worked with Danish Dance Theatre, Acosta Danza and as a freelancer with Art of Spectra and Pontus Lidberg Dance, and performed at Dramaten in Stockholm. He has also appeared in film and in interdisciplinary collaborations. Since 2020, he has been a member of Ballett Basel under Richard Wherlock, Adolphe Binder, Tilman O’Donnell and Marco Goecke. He also appears as a guest with Tanztheater Wuppertal in a work by Pina Bausch.

Let’s play with dynamic, risk, and gravity. This class explores the body’s potential to slide, spin, and roll across the floor, pushing physical limits to access your full capacity. We explore the body’s surface and connection to the ground to take the most out of it.
Because the floor isn’t something to fear. It’s your partner, your resistance, your source of movement. We explore how to use its surface to build speed, momentum, and control - not through force, but through athletic, fearless surrender. Blending improvisation, strengthening drills, dynamic phrase work, and soft acrobatics - all grounded in the floor. You’ll learn to fall, roll, slide, spin, not as isolated tricks, but as integrated, expressive tools. This is where your body learns to trust itself. Where sweat meets breath. Where risk
becomes rhythm.

Lino Eckenstein was born in 2002 in Vienna, Austria. From 2021 until 2025 he was studying at Fontys Academy of the Arts Tilburg in the Netherlands where he worked on projects with Eastman Dance Company (Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), Cecilia Moisio and many others. In 2023 Lino started to work with ALLEYNE Dance as an Intern and Rehearsal Assistant on various Projects. For the season 2024/25 Lino
joined the ensemble of TANZ_Kassel where he worked with Andonis Foniadakis, Antonio Ruz, Andrea Peña and Noa Zuk. Since 2025 Lino is working as a freelance artist on projects with Damien Jalet, Piet Van D**e, Christina Seewald and Vanholzer besides this he is teaching workshops in schools and programs all around Europe. With his company CRUELBEHAVIOR Projects he is collaborating with
other artists creating work on stage and on film.

fluid, engaging, playful

Being in control, of being out of control. It’s the fine-tuning of this delicate balance that allows me to cherish the present moment.
Movement perfectly illustrates the uniqueness and unrepeatability of an event, intangible temporality, and the unstable world subject to
constant change. The great privilege of the studio process gives space to this playfulness, the humility of the present, and allows for
vulnerability to emerge. It’s the vulnerability that unites us while leading to an emotional place we can connect to. The continual trial and
error of ideas give a chance to the unexpected. That’s the fascinating part, that moment least expected that raises the hair on my flesh.
Even the in-between spaces, the transitory phases of our lives that we often do not notice are the fragmented journeys of subtle details
that shape emotions and relationships, which I try to capture in my work. For me, dance & theater is a cinematic experience that marries
these contrasting nuances together, immersed in a world of sound, movement, space, and the moment.
Carlos Kerr Jr. is a Belizean-American performing artist from Brooklyn, New York. His international career spans performances with the
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, Stadttheater Ulm, Tanz
Luzerner Theater, Snorkel Rabbit, and currently, Ballett Basel. He has performed works by acclaimed choreographers including Crystal
Pite, William Forsythe, Hofesh Shechter, Marcos Morau, among others. Now based in Basel, Carlos channels his interdisciplinary artistry into movement direction, filmmaking, photography, sound production, and somatic education—merging rhythm, narrative, and cultural
resonance across every medium he touches.

Spiraling through ballet positions and movements with flow and exactitude

Stefanie Pechtl teaches a contemporary ballet training rooted in classical ballet principles, adapted for contemporary dancers. Her classes focus on functional alignment, musicality, and spatial awareness, encouraging self-authorship and somatic clarity. Technique is approached as a living language; precise, embodied, and creatively inhabited.

Stefanie is an Austrian dancer and choreographer.
Born in Deutschlandsberg, she grew up in Styria, Bavaria, and Vienna.
She received her training in classical and contemporary dance at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera and at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Movement Studies & Performance (Dance Pedagogy).
She has been a member of various dance companies, including the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper, Gyri Ballet in Hungary, the dance company at Landestheater Linz, and the ballet company of Staatstheater Nümberg. From 2019 to 2025, she was an ensemble member of Ballett Theater Basel.
Her artistic work as a dancer and performer has been shaped by collaborations with choreographers and performance and theatre makers such as Mauro Bigonzetti, Jiñ Kylián, Richard Wherlock, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Bobbi Jene Smith, Martin Zimmermann, Fabrice Mazliah, Tim Etchells, Vlatka Horvat, Alia Luque, and Saburo Teshigawara.
Stefanie has created choreographic works for the drama department of Staatstheater Nümberg, Ballett Theater Basel, and the Kunstmuseum Basel.
Following her wide-ranging interests, she studied Romance Studies as well as Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna and has also worked as a dance pedagoge.
From March 2022 to February 2026, she is further expanding her expertise in dance education, psychology, sport, and health through the MAS in Dance Science at the University of Bern, and from September 2025 through the MA in Dance, Choreography at ZHaK.

This training is based on Axis Syllabus principles, using Contact Improvisation as a warm up strategy. It focuses
on efficient movement, coordination, and dynamic alignment, combining biomechanics with playful exploration.
Set phrases, moving between floor work and standing material, are developed across the 3 class series, and
refined from slow to fast, sharp qualities. Participants experience an engaging and energetic space that fosters
curiosity and precision. The practice enriches the dancer skills through functional tools and deep body awareness.
The main goal is to expand movement possibilities while supporting sustainable dancing

Antoine Ragot is a Berlin-based dance artist and educator, a certified Axis Syllabus teacher with a lifelong practice
of Contact Improvisation. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, he is known for his insightful, approachable
teaching and movement research. He co-founded Movement Artisans in Berlin, leads intensives, and teaches
across Europe, while co-producing CI events. His work explores biomechanics, athletic skills, and the joy of
dancing together.

Bridge ist ein professionelles Tanzprojekt, das jungen Tänzer:innen den Übergang von der Ausbildung in die Berufswelt erleichtern und ihnen erste professionelle Erfahrungen ermöglichen möchte.

Der Übergang von der Ausbildung in den professionellen Tanz ist für junge Tänzer:innen eine entscheidende und oft herausfordernde Phase. Gleichzeitig stehen auch etablierte Künstler:innen und Tanzschaffende vor Fragen rund um faire Gagen, soziale Absicherung, Arbeitszeiten, Vereinbarkeit und langfristige
berufliche Perspektiven.

Wie sehen die Arbeitsbedingungen für Tänzer:innen heute aus? Was braucht es für einen erfolgreichen Berufseinstieg? Und wie können faire und nachhaltige Arbeitsbedingungen in der Tanzszene geschaffen werden?
Im Rahmen dieses Stammtischs möchten wir Erfahrungen, Perspektiven und Ideen rund um den Tanzberuf austauschen. Dabei sollen insbesondere auch die Herausforderungen und Bedürfnisse junger Tänzer:innen zur Sprache kommen.

Der Stammtisch richtet sich an Tänzer:innen, Choreograf:innen, Tanzschaffende, Studierende, Institutionen und alle Interessierten. Nach einem kurzen Impuls steht der gemeinsame Austausch in lockerer Atmosphäre im Mittelpunkt.

Wir freuen uns auf unterschiedliche Perspektiven, offene Gespräche und einen Abend des Austauschs und Vernetzens.
