*Growing together as regional and global expressions*

"This visit offers an opportunity to hear what is happening in other parts of the world, and also to share the situation in Southern Africa: the joys that we have, and the challenges that we have here. But just as importantly, it is an opportunity to interact and share the faith, to share the relationship that you get as a Lutheran family." – Bishop Kenneth Sibanda, President of the Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa (LUCSA)

Today in Johannesburg, LWF GS Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt visited the offices of the Lutheran Communion in Southern Africa to gain more insight into the subregional cooperation among Lutheran churches in the southern part of Africa.

LWF general secretary Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt visits LWF member churches in South Africa on 17-24 August.

Starting out as a soup kitchen, iThemba Labantu has grown into a full-blown community centre, currently offering pre-school and education to some 300 children, skills training for various livelihoods, among other activities.

The day also included a visit to the Faculty of Theology at Stellenbosch University.
