Founded by Lutheran churches in 1947 in Lund, Sweden, it has 154 members in 99 countries, representing over 78 million Lutherans. The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of churches. The LWF works for and with Lutheran churches in proclaiming the gospel, serving the poor and advocating for a just, peaceful and reconciled world.

Together We Pray

“Prayer gathers us into community and sends us into the world to participate in God’s work of reconciliation and justice: may this book become a companion for the weary, strength for those seeking justice, comfort for those who suffer, and inspiration to live deeply into God’s promise of dignity and abundant life for all,” said Rev. Dr Marcia Blasi, editor of a new volume called ‘Together We Pray’.

A reunion to celebrate faith and care for creation

After years apart, southern Brazil Lutheran congregations reunited recently in Agudo where they celebrated in worship and received more than 800 tree seedlings as a sign of their commitment to care for creation.
