If you're a post secondary student that is concerned about civilian harm in Iran and Lebanon, sign this letter written by Hawraa, a former MAC intern. Together, we are gathering student signatures before sending the letter to all Canadian Members of Parliament, urging them to take meaningful action to ensure Canada’s policies align with the protection of human life, international law, and long-term global stability.

Mines Action Canada congratulates Lebanon for joining the Ottawa Treaty! If any state had an excuse to say "Maybe we won’t join today" it's Lebanon - and yet they did, reinforcing that landmines should never be used anywhere, under any circumstance. Lebanon has lived wisdom after decades of cleaning up explosive hazards from previous armed conflicts which injured and killed its citizens long after the conflict was over. They deserve our respect for taking this bold step and we look forward to working with them as a new State Party.

Mine Ban Treaty States Parties should unreservedly condemn Israel’s current invasion and occupation of Lebanese sovereign territory. It is not theirs, and no one should pretend otherwise. Lebanese Presidency, welcome to the Ottawa Treaty, and thank you for showing that humanitarian principles must hold even during armed conflicts!

Fantastic News! Congratulations Lebanon and everyone who worked so hard to make this a reality!
