Information session about Family Allowance

There will be an information session organized by the Centre de Contact Suisses-Immigrés (CCSI) about Family Allowance in English next Wednesday 19 August at 4.30pm. It will be held at the CCSI Office: 4th floor 25 route des Acacias | 1227 Les Acacias Tram 15 and 17 Stop Industrielle. The entrance is on the side of the building, rue Adrien Wyss. (T 022 - 304 48 60 - www.ccsi.ch).

How much is the family allowance per child? Can I request it? How can I request it? No need for registration. A childcare service for children older than 2 years is available during the information session.

Important Notice for All Undocumented Workers
G7 Summit and Increased Border Checks Throughout the Canton of Geneva: Please Be Cautious!
In preparation for the upcoming G7 summit in Evian, authorities have decided to close numerous border crossings from June 12 through June 18 and to reinstate systematic identity checks at the remaining open border crossings (marked in green on the map below).
Identity checks will therefore be increased at the borders with France, but also throughout the Geneva region.

From June 12 to 18, please be especially careful :

Avoid areas near the border and major routes crossing it (including the CEVA) as much as possible and, especially, don’t risk crossing the border to do groceries in neighboring France ;
Depending on your relationship with your employers who live near the border, try to arrange for time off during this period ;
Limit your outings as much as possible on the weekend of June 13 and 14; the risk of being stopped for inspection will be at its highest then ;

If, despite all these precautions, you are unfortunately stopped or detained by customs officials or the police, exercise your right to remain silent, decline to give your address, and present them with the SIT power of attorney.
And a very important point: insist on your right to make a phone call—in this case, to the syndicat SIT—to organize your defense !

The Filipino Community of St John XXIII Parish in 57 Rue de Montbrillant will have a ‘Barrio Fiesta’ food sale which will showcase the various Filipino food and delicacies this Sunday 3rd May after the 9:00 and 11:00 masses. Everyone is invited to support this event organized by our Filipino parishioners. Proceeds will go towards our parish and our various parish outreach programmes.
