Air pollution is costing us more than we think
Air pollution is not only a public health challenge. It also places a significant burden on our economies, healthcare systems and ecosystems.
Research under the UNECE Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution shows that across the Pan-European region and North America, the monetary damage caused by ambient air pollution exceeds 5% of GDP in nearly half of countries, and surpasses 10% in at least six countries.
The cost of polluted air affects us all.

The event aims to:
• Raise awareness and facilitate the exchange of perspectives on trends, emerging issues and key challenges of air pollution policies;
• Share experiences and approaches to addressing air pollution, including policies, regulatory frameworks, and technical solutions, as well as their potential climate co-benefits; and
• Encourage dialogue and mutual learning among stakeholders across sectors and regions on air quality monitoring, management, and governance.
