Through our 12 People. 12 Cameras. 12 Months. project with Fujifilm, 12 individuals from around the world—who have been participating since September—captured their April moments in a photo under the theme “My Cancer Hero.”

Eduardo Uchoa was one of these 12 participants. Since his passing last week at the age of 36, we have been holding Eduardo in our thoughts. We remember him with deep gratitude and dedicate this post to his memory. His words stay with us: “to dream, to live, and to be grateful every day.”

“Cancer turned my world upside down…

Hola, Jeff Dunn is my name, and I was diagnosed with a blastoid variant of mantle cell lymphoma. It's rare, and it's aggressive.

One day, I texted a friend to tell her. I ended the text with: ‘So it goes.’ Not because I had accepted it, but because I just didn't know what else to say. I had the support, sure, but still I felt disconnected with no control.

Many men suffer quietly, not asking for help.

Together with my wife, we wrote a book, Rising to the Challenge of Life After Cancer. We hope it will be of some help to some of those men out there.

And here's the gang. We're having fun, we're enjoying life.”
