Created in 2000, World Cancer Day has grown into a positive movement for everyone, everywhere to unite under one voice to face one of our greatest challenges in history. Each year, hundreds of activities and events take place around the world, gathering communities, organisations and individuals in schools, businesses, hospitals, marketplaces, parks, community halls, places of worship - in the str

The 2026 Impact Report is now live!

On 4 February 2026, the global community, including UICC members and partners, came together to raise its voice for cancer louder than ever:

🔸 More than 1,000 activities took place worldwide
🔸 1,215 people shared their cancer stories on our website
🔸 30,000 media mentions were recorded across 164 countries
🔸 Nearly 1 million campaign video views
🔸 More than 5 million social media engagements

From caregivers and advocates to people with lived experience, families, and friends — every voice mattered.

Through our 12 People. 12 Cameras. 12 Months. project with Fujifilm, 12 individuals from around the world—who have been participating since September—captured their April moments in a photo under the theme “My Cancer Hero.”

Eduardo Uchoa was one of these 12 participants. Since his passing last week at the age of 36, we have been holding Eduardo in our thoughts. We remember him with deep gratitude and dedicate this post to his memory. His words stay with us: “to dream, to live, and to be grateful every day.”
