🎓 Meet the IID Alumni

We are pleased to feature Mr. Théophile Olivier Bosse, First Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations in Geneva 🇺🇳.

💼 A career diplomat, he joined the IID module “Mastering Trade Diplomacy: Let’s Talk About Tariffs” to strengthen his expertise in a rapidly evolving global trade environment.

📊 The programme enabled him to develop practical negotiation tools, deepen his understanding of tariffs as strategic policy instruments, and gain valuable insights from experienced practitioners.

🌍 Beyond individual growth, such training plays a key role for Cameroon, supporting efforts to protect national interests, optimise revenues, and strengthen its position in international negotiations.

📈 His experience reflects IID’s mission: equipping professionals to navigate and shape today’s global economic landscape.

🌍 The IID was delighted to bring together members of our community for an insightful evening at the CAGI - Centre d’Accueil de la Genève Internationale unique ecosystem of International Geneva and the role played by the CAGI within it.

🤝 Through presentations delivered by Michael Cochet, Co-Director of the CAGI, and Jonathan Thrall, Project Manager for NGO Support & Visits of International Geneva, participants gained valuable insights into the CAGI’s mission in supporting and integrating the international community in Geneva, while highlighting its contribution to strengthening Geneva’s role as a global hub for multilateralism and international cooperation.

✨ This event forms part of IID’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for members of our community to engage directly with institutions and actors shaping International Geneva.

On 29 April, a part of our IID members and alumnis gathered for a delicious gelato tasting experience at Amorino.🍦

Participants enjoyed a curated selection of artisanal Italian ice cream, discovering authentic flavors and craftsmanship in a warm and welcoming setting. The experience was enriched by a special presentation delivered by Olivier Beugin, Director of Amorino Suisse Romande, who shared insights into the brand’s philosophy, tradition, and commitment to excellence.

The event concluded with a convivial and informal moment of exchange—an opportunity to connect, share perspectives and, in true IID spirit, engage in a touch of “gelato diplomacy” over a refined Italian treat. 🤝

March 8th is not only a moment of recognition, but also a reminder of the collective responsibility to strengthen efforts in support of gender equality and the empowerment of women everywhere. 🌟

Two years of commitment at the heart of International Geneva 🌐

Two years of questioning, rethinking, and evolving diplomacy 💡

Because in such a complex period, proposing concrete and pragmatic solutions is no longer optional – it is a necessity 🤝

Our presence at the centre of global governance allows us to create and strengthen synergies with local authorities, States and their permanent missions, international organisations, civil society, the public-private sector, and the academic world…

🎉 A Certificate Ceremony marked by meaningful exchanges, multiculturalism and above all, joy!

On Wednesday 11 February, we concluded our module Trade Diplomacy: let’s talk about Tariffs (in partnership with the CCIG) with a certificate ceremony.

First and foremost, we extend our warmest congratulations to our participants on obtaining their certificates.

🤝 We were honoured to welcome Markus Schlagenhof, Deputy Secretary- General EFTA as well as Floreta Kabashi, Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo.

This second edition was the result of a valued partnership with the CCIG. The welcome address was delivered by her President Isabelle Harsch, followed by remarks from our President, Pablo Demierre. Since its inception, our module’s main speaker Didier Chambovey offered a retrospective and shared perspectives for 2026.

The evening was also an opportunity to thank the distinguished lecturers who contributed to the success of this module and whose expertise will enable our participants to put the tools discussed into practice.

The event concluded with a cocktail reception, enhanced by our partner restaurant Visitaly which delighted our guests with delicious and authentic dishes.

🎙To conclude our Mastering Trade Diplomacy: Let’s talk about Tariffs module, we had the pleasure of welcoming Romaine Jean, Media and Communications Consultant, who delivered a course entitled Mastering Rhetoric: an asset in Negotiation.

🇨🇭Well known to Swiss audiences through her work on the national television news, she provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of rhetoric and highlighted its importance in the professional and everyday lives of our participants.

📢 Back on October 9, we launched the second edition of , in partnership with the CCIG.

🌐 We had the great pleasure of welcoming, in the first part of the evening, Yannick Roulin, Ambassador and Director of the CAGI – International Geneva Welcome Centre, who presented the rich and complex ecosystem of , offering both an overview of the current situation and insights into future perspectives.

🌏 In the second part, Jean-Pierre Reymond, Executive Director of 2050Today, explored the topic of sustainability through decarbonization, sharing practical and pragmatic advice to help turn commitment into action in our daily lives.

A big thank you to our two speakers for these inspiring and insightful discussions.

Par ces quelques mots, nous souhaitons exprimer notre profonde solidarité envers les victimes, leurs familles et les survivants. Nous sommes de tout cœur à leurs côtés. 🙏

As we were preparing to extend our best wishes for the year 2026, it began in a tragic manner with the devastating news that occurred in Crans-Montana during the night of December 31 to January 1. Through these few words, we wish to express our deepest solidarity with the victims, their families, and the survivors. We stand wholeheartedly by their side.
