⚜️ Last Friday, our 82nd Board Meeting took place at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg — the first meeting since HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg assumed the role of Honorary Chair, succeeding HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, in May 2026.

The Board Meeting, chaired by Beat Wenger, provided an opportunity to review the Foundation’s activities and take decisions on priorities in support of Scouting worldwide. Warm thanks to our Honorary Chair, Luxembourgish BP Fellows and representatives of Scouting in Luxembourg for the exceptional welcome and hospitality around the event

Young people are change makers. ⚜️ Scouts are shaping a better future today, one community at a time. Last week, the World Scout Foundation stood alongside World Scouting at in New York to make that case, from education and the skills young people need, to peacebuilding and the world beyond 2030.

Over the week, we:
🌱 Took part in the 5th UNGA Edition of the Learning and Skills for Sustainable Youth Development Dialogue Series co-hosted by SAP and World Scouting.

⚜️ Hosted our annual reception, with our new Honorary Chair, HRH Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg, alongside BP Fellows, Board Members, and friends of Scouting.

🇺🇳 In his first-ever address at the United Nations, HRH the Grand Duke of Luxembourg championed the Scouting Movement: « (Scouting) taught me something absolutely fundamental. Placing our trust in young people means giving them responsibilities »

What a thought-provoking event this week at and wonderful reflections by UN Youth Affairs.

🎒 🏫 🎓 Education systems need to create safe spaces for young people to flourish and collaborate, and we can learn from young people's unique creativity and adaptability around emerging technologies.

⚜️ The need to foster the human skills like resilience and creativity are more relevant than ever, and Scouting offers the right platform and value system to empower young leaders in an AI world.

In his first-ever address at the United Nations, HRH The Grand Duke of Luxembourg reflected on the fundamental lessons Scouting teaches us about leadership, solidarity, and empowering the next generation. To build a world centred on human values, we must give youth responsibilities and the space needed to act.

HRH The Grand Duke is championing the Scouting Movement on the global stage in his new role as Honorary Chair of the World Scout Foundation. As a lifelong ambassador in the Scouting world, he is dedicated to ensuring that youth are trusted, heard, and ready to lead.

On we celebrate the millions of Scouts who contribute to peace every day.

From serving local communities and supporting people in times of need to creating spaces for dialogue, connection, and understanding across borders, Scouts around the world are showing that peace starts with each of us.

Congratulations to the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, which has been awarded the Cultural Communication Award for the Messengers of Peace initiative, presented annually by the King Abdulaziz Centre for Cultural Communication.

For 15+ years, Messengers of Peace has inspired millions of Scouts to build dialogue, tolerance, and understanding in their communities. 🌍

Congratulations to the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association on receiving the Cultural Communication Award for the Messengers of Peace initiative at a ceremony in Riyadh. 👏

Presented annually by the King Abdulaziz Center for Cultural Communication, the award recognises initiatives and organisations making an outstanding contribution to cultural communication, dialogue, tolerance and understanding.

This year, more than 1,200 submissions were received across five categories, with just nine winners recognised. The Saudi Arabian Scouts Association was one of two recipients in the Civil Society Organizations category, recognised for the impact of Messengers of Peace.

For more than 15 years, Messengers of Peace has inspired Scouts around the world to take action in their communities, promote dialogue and understanding, and contribute to a more peaceful world. 🌍

This recognition celebrates the impact made possible by millions of Scouts and volunteers around the world, and a shared commitment to empowering young people as active citizens and peacebuilders.

⚜️100 reunions! 🎉 First held in 1921, Gilwell Reunion has brought Scout leaders together at Park to connect, share ideas and learn new skills. This year marked the 100th edition of this special event — and we were proud to be part of it. 🌳⚜️

More than 3,200 people attended this 100th edition of Gilwell Reunion, including 250 international participants from outside the UK.

Our WSF reception brought together more than 80 BP Fellows, UK Chapter members and supporters of Scouting on these storied grounds, connecting Baden-Powell’s legacy with the future of our global Movement.

Special thanks to Craig Turpie and Graeme Popay from the UK Chapter, and to International Commissioner Rob Murray, for welcoming us to the Reunion’s International Zone, and to all who expressed interest in the work of the World Scout Foundation.

We’re getting closer to our fundraising target for communities affected by the devastating flash floods in northern Nepal. 💜

Thanks to the generosity of supporters so far, Nepal Scouts are continuing to mobilise trained leaders and volunteers to support affected communities, helping deliver clean water, food, medical and hygiene kits, and other essential relief supplies.
