Global Shapers

Global Shapers The Global Shapers Community is a network of young people driving dialogue, action and change.

We believe in a world where young people are central to solution building, policy-making and lasting change. Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges. With more than 6,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 378 city-based hubs in 160 countr

ies. In each city, teams of Shapers self-organize to create projects that address the needs of their community. Projects are wide-ranging – from responding to disasters and combating poverty, to fighting climate change and building inclusive communities. Shapers are diverse in expertise, education, income and race, but are united by their desire to bring about change.

📣 What do young people really think about the future? Every year, thousands of voices help shape the World Economic Forum's Youth Pulse report, one of the leading global snapshots of young people's priorities, concerns and aspirations.

This year, the survey is open to all young people aged 18–30.

By completing the Survey, you're contributing to a global evidence base that helps inform advocacy, policy discussions and efforts to advance youth empowerment around the world.

Your perspective matters. Your experiences matter. And together, our voices can help shape the youth agenda.

🌍 Climate action needs more than youth presence. It needs youth expertise, leadership and influence. This World Environment Day, we celebrate leaders like Angela who are helping ensure that youth participation is measured not by how many seats are filled, but by how much influence those voices have in shaping the future.

Her words reflect the diversity of expertise and lived experience that young people bring to climate decision-making. They are not a single constituency, but a generation contributing solutions from every corner of society.

Raised in Cúcuta, Colombia, a region already experiencing the impacts of climate change, Tomas began his leadership journey by organizing a protest at his high school to demand stronger environmental action from local authorities. Last year, he served as an official Party delegate for the Government of Colombia and may be among the youngest negotiators participating at COP30.

This World Environment Day, we celebrate young leaders like Tomas who are bringing youth leadership to international decision-making.

The environmental challenges ahead require bold ideas, but they also require new voices at the table. Tomas is proving that age is no barrier to shaping global outcomes.

Benjamín Sánchez Adam reminds us that the scale and complexity of today's environmental challenges demand collaboration that extends far beyond individual leaders, organizations or political cycles.

From advising the United Nations in Chile and contributing to EU-Latin America cooperation on green transformation, to advancing ocean protection and representing youth voices in global climate negotiations, many young changemakers like Benjamin are rooted in building bridges across sectors, regions and generations.

This , Cathy Yitong Li reminds us that meaningful climate action is not only about setting ambitious targets, but ensuring accountability for delivering them.

Through mechanisms like the Paris Agreement's Global Stocktake, the international community has opportunities to assess progress and course-correct. But these moments should also be used to strengthen youth participation in decision-making and implementation.

With experience spanning UN bodies, global coalitions, governments and civil society, Cathy has long championed the role of young people in shaping environmental policy. Her message is clear: youth empowerment should not be treated as an afterthought, but as a core component of effective climate governance.

💙Last weekend, Global Shapers from across the Iberian community came together for three days of shared learning and connection in Santander.

Through workshops and sessions, the retreat created the space for conversations on resilience, volunteer engagement, and decision-making in the face of adversity.

A big thank you to the Santander Hub, along with the retreat's facilitators, and Global Shapers who joined the retreat, for putting together an experience that balanced depth with energy.

Congratulations to Girish Mehta of Global Shapers Jaipur on being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia - Social Impact list.👏

Every year in India, thousands of care-experienced youth turn 18 and face adulthood without family support, financial security or a clear path forward. As the co-founder of Careleavers Inner Circle (CLiC) Forum, India’s first careleaver-led non-profit, Girish is transforming what happens after young people leave Child Care Institutions.

Having grown up in orphanages themselves, Girish Mehta and Anisha Sharma have built an organization that understands the challenges careleavers face and is creating practical solutions at scale.
