The Global Campaign for Violence Prevention promotes the adoption of a public health approach to violence prevention, and provides a platform for collaboration and the exchange of information between actors at global and country level. It focuses on different areas of violence prevention, including child maltreatment, youth violence, intimate partner violence, elder maltreatment, and armed violence prevention. The Violence Prevention Alliance (VPA) is a network of WHO Member States, international agencies and civil society organizations working to prevent violence through the Global Campaign for Violence Prevention. VPA participants share an evidence-based public health approach that targets the risk factors leading to violence and promotes multi-sectoral cooperation. Participants are committed to implement the recommendations of the World report on violence and health.
