🌍 This year’s discussions come at a critical moment for global health following and ahead of the WHO ECO Strategy.

The theme focuses on the systems supporting Emergency, Critical & Operative (ECO) care — from workforce and rehabilitation to transport, financing, energy, supply chains, advocacy, digital infrastructure, and beyond.

We want every corner of the global health community represented in this conversation, not only surgery.

Around the world, young people are living the reality of delayed surgeries, unsafe care and systems that overlook their needs.
Yet when it comes to decisions about surgical services, their voices are still too often missing.
Youth leadership is not just “representation” it brings data, lived experience, creativity and accountability into the room where policies are made.
Safe surgery is a right and young people are essential partners in defending it.
When youth help shape surgical policy, health systems become more just, responsive and ready for the future.
