🌍 What does the environment have to do with surgery?

Air pollution. Extreme heat. Urban planning. Food systems. Climate change.

These exposures can contribute to NCDs such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease and diabetes—conditions that may ultimately require surgical, anaesthetic or procedural care.
