🎭 From Theatre to Risk Education
Before joining FSD, Mykyta worked in drama and vocal performance. For him, theatre was never just a job, it was a way of constantly learning about himself and the world. A wonderful time that taught him the most important thing: to be honest with your audience.
Today, as a leading specialist in explosive ordnance risk education and non-technical surveys for FSD in Chernihiv, Ukraine, he uses those same skills to engage with communities and help people stay safe. Every day, he travels across the region to speak with adults and children about the dangers posed by explosive hazards.
The hardest part of this new job, he says, was "coming back to reality". Stepping away from something creative is never easy. But the stage never truly disappeared: working with children always calls for a fresh approach, because what works for some doesn't work for others. That, too, is creativity. While theatre has taken a pause, creativity remains part of his life: through photography, music, and the moments he shares with his daughter.
Like many Ukrainians, Mykyta hopes for a safer future. And every day, through his work, he contributes to making that future possible.
