Marilisa Pischedda , brava e grazie ! 💙

After an eventful week of training on board Lady Magellan with our all-women crew and super coach Luis, it’s back to routine for everyone! 💪

But weekends are still for training! While Lady Magellan gets some well-deserved rest in Lanzarote, the crew keeps moving, staying active and getting ready for the World Cruising Club . 🌊⛵️

One step closer to the start line! 💙

17/07/2026: Today BioBlitz day (the 5th of 2026)

These days of massive eDNA collection by citizen scientists and supporting associations of the Spot the Monk initiative, such as Fleet for Science, are important to produce periodic snap-shots of the distribution of Mediterrranean monk seal traces.

This allows for a more precise mapping of any positive signals, allowing us to exclude that samples with a strong signal and coming from relatively close locations (in the order of 200–500 km) could refer to the same individual in motion.

The overfund collected during the recently concluded Foca Non Foca crowdfunding campaign (look at link on stories) allows the cost of the BioBlitz analysis to be covered for the 2026 and 2027 Bioblitzs.
