đź’ˇWhat can an investigative mechanism do?

🔹It CAN:
• Collect & preserve evidence
• Analyze & verify serious violations
• Prepare files for proceedings
• Support future trials & accountability
• Safely engage survivors & civil society

▫️It CANNOT:
• Act as a court
• Arrest perpetrators
• Deliver immediate justice
• Function effectively without funding & cooperation.

Its role is to keep the path to justice open. Documentation is not justice by itself, but without documentation, future justice becomes harder.
