🎉 Celebrating the 2025 Human Rights Recognition Awards 🎉
On Saturday, 13 December 2025, the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue held the fifth edition of the Human Rights Recognition Awards (HRRA) in Geneva, under the theme Human Rights in the Digital Age: Accountability, Freedom, Respect.
This year’s ceremony recognised outstanding individual leadership advancing human rights in digital and technology-driven contexts.
🏆 The Individual Award for Ethical AI and Human Rights Protection was awarded to Daniela Camberos (Mexico), in recognition of her work through Ramona, an ethical AI initiative addressing algorithmic bias, labour discrimination, and risks linked to human trafficking.
🏆 The Individual Award for Defending Freedom of Expression Online was presented to Sonal Dhanani (Pakistan), Founder and CEO of Parindey Wellbeing and Development Foundation, for her leadership in strengthening digital safety and freedom of expression for women, youth, and marginalised communities.
The ceremony also featured a rich panel discussion titled “Defending Human Rights in the Digital Era,” led by Dr. Milena Costas Trascasas. We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Costas Trascasas for her thoughtful moderation and for guiding a substantive exchange on algorithmic accountability, ethical innovation, and the protection of human rights in digital spaces.
We also thank all participants who joined us in Geneva.
Your engagement and contributions strengthened the dialogue and reaffirmed the importance of collective action in advancing human rights in the digital age.
