Facts- stroke is recoverable!

Contrary to what lots of people believe, research shows us that brains damaged by stroke have an amazing capacity to reorganise, adapt, learn and repair.

While timely access to stroke treatment can prevent significant damage, advances in neuro-rehabilitation can optimise stroke recovery and help restore lost function. This is especially true when rehabilitation is provided soon after stroke and where interventions are personalised to the needs and motivations of stroke survivors and caregivers.

The World Stroke Organization is committed to advancing understanding of the potential of rehabilitation, in partnership with people with lived experience, and to advancing access to specialist stroke rehab for all.
