“Development needs peace. Peace needs development.” We are thrilled to share highlights of the launch of Finance for Peace as an independent, standard-setting body for . We look forward to continuing to build the foundations for sustainable, peace-positive investment, creating a market for Peace Finance.

Finance for Peace was born from international peacebuilding organisation Interpeace’s three decades of peacebuilding expertise.

💫 This Wednesday saw the launch of Finance for Peace as an independent entity, and the excitement was palpable - thank you to all of you who joined us in person!

💡 It was very inspiring to see the growing Peace Finance ecosystem come together in strong numbers in Finance for Peace’s new, future location, London (just some of the launch guests are featured in this photo). The Finance for Peace Steering Committee and the Peace Finance Industry Network were convened in person, and also some of the Peace Finance Standards Committee members joined the discussions. The day culminated in the launch event of the new Peace Finance organisation where we also welcomed several participants who were new to Peace Finance.

🍀 There is clearly great potential and interest in the nascent Peace Finance sector. Interpeace will continue its work in Peace Finance, whilst Finance for Peace will be set up as an independent, standard-setting body for Peace Finance from January in London.

📽 We’re thrilled to announce that Finance for Peace and SFG - Sustainable Finance Geneva are joining forces to present a challenge at the 2024! This year’s hackathon, taking place 11 to 12 October, will focus on Peace Finance.

We look forward to joining forces at the hackathon to develop solutions that empower investors to incorporate conflict risks into their investment decisions and maximising their positive impact on peace. 💡
