Founded by the Swiss Confederation and the Republic and Canton of Geneva, CAGI (International Geneva Welcome Centre) is the one stop shop dedicated to employees and civil servants of international organizations and their families, diplomats, mission staff, NGOs & visiting delegates. Fondé par la Confédération suisse et la République et Canton de Genève, le CAGI (Centre d'Accueil de la Genève Internationale) est la porte d'entrée unique dédiée aux employés et fonctionnaires des organisations internationales et à leurs familles, aux diplomates, au personnel des missions, aux ONG et aux délégués en visite.

🥂 Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome participants to our second BEL Apéro at La Pastorale!
A great opportunity for locals and internationals taking part in the 𝗖𝗔𝗚𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 (𝗕𝗘𝗟) to meet new people, reconnect with their language partners and practise languages through informal conversations in a friendly atmosphere.

🍂 From 19 to 23 October, Geneva schools will be on autumn break, traditionally known as “vacances de patates” (potato holidays)!
➡️This unusual name dates back to a time when schoolchildren helped their families and local farmers harvest potatoes during the autumn season. Although this tradition has long disappeared, the name has remained!

🏛️ Last Saturday, participants in the CAGI Welcome Programme for newcomers headed to Lausanne for a day of cultural discoveries, local history and new encounters.
The day began with a warm welcome at Lausanne's Town Hall, where our Director Céline Champion Dessibourg also addressed the participants. Over coffee and croissants, they had the opportunity to learn more about the city's political system, with a particular focus on sport and culture.
The programme continued with a guided walking tour through Lausanne's historic streets, followed by free time to explore the city and a visit to the The Olympic Museum - Le Musée Olympique. 🏅
🤝 Our sincere thanks to the Ville de Lausanne , a supporting member of CAGI, and particularly to Ms Lidija Levkov and Ms Marina Cotter from Lausanne International Relations, for their warm hospitality and support.
We also warmly thank the two volunteer guides from Mouvement des Aînés Vaud for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm during the guided tour, generously offered by the City of Lausanne.
And, of course, a special thank you to Veronica Eggly for organising another wonderful !
Another great opportunity for newcomers to discover the region and connect with their new surroundings.

🏃This weekend, the "Marche de l'Espoir" organised by Terre des Hommes Suisse will take place on the quays along the right bank in Geneva.
🙌There will be several events taking place around the walk, so do come along and cheer on the walkers !
⛔ The roads will be closed to traffic on the Quai du Mont Blanc.
