June 20 — World Refugee Day.
🔹 Since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to flee their homes or become internally displaced. Today, according to Global Trends data, more than 9.6 million Ukrainians remain displaced: 5.9 million are refugees worldwide, while another 3.7 million are internally displaced within Ukraine.
🔹 Despite immense challenges, Ukrainians continue to live, work, study, and make meaningful contributions to the communities that have welcomed them.
For the Ukrainian World Congress, protecting refugee rights remains a key priority. Today we thank the organizations within the UWC that, since the start of the full-scale invasion, have supported and defended the rights of millions of displaced Ukrainians.
We also express our gratitude to all countries and people of goodwill across the Americas, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, and beyond who have opened their doors and hearts to Ukrainians in this difficult time.

🔹 З початку війни РФ проти України, мільйони українців стали внутрішньо переміщеними особами або вимушено покинули рідну країну. Сьогодні, за даними Global Trends, понад 9,6 мільйона українців залишаються вимушено переміщеними особами: з них 5,9 мільйона — переселенці за кордоном, а ще 3,7 мільйона — внутрішньо переміщені особи в Україні.
🔹 Попри всі труднощі, українці продовжують жити, працювати, навчатися й робити вагомий внесок у розвиток громад у країнах, які їх прихистили.
Для СКУ захист прав біженців лишатиметься одним із ключових напрямків. Сьогодні ми дякуємо організаціям у складі Світового Конґресу Українців, які з початку повномасштабного вторгнення прихистили і відстояли права мільйонів вимушених переселенців.
Також висловлюємо вдячність усім державам і людям доброї волі в Америці, Канаді, Європі, Азії, Африці та в усьому світі, які відкрили свої двері та серця для українців у найскладніший час.
