Standing Over Abysses – Trauma, Development and Resilience

For four days, professionals from medicine, therapy, nursing and research came together at the Goetheanum for the International Annual Conference of the Medical Section.

Lectures, conversations, working groups and personal encounters opened different perspectives on resilience, healing and the forces that can support people in difficult life situations.

Beyond the programme itself, the conference was shaped by exchange – in the Main Auditorium, in workshops and in many conversations between sessions.
A heartfelt thank you to all contributors, speakers and participants who helped shape these days.

What happens when the human being becomes an instrument of research?
The Autumn Conference of the Natural Science Section explores an approach to science that does not separate the human being from the process of knowledge, but consciously includes our senses, thinking and entire constitution.
How can we not only observe nature from the outside, but also approach its becoming from within? And what forms of knowledge might this open up?

🌿 Rhythm and Life – Family Festival at the Goetheanum
Four days full of encounters, shared experiences, movement, music, play and exchange: from 3 to 6 August, children and adults came together for the Family Festival at the Goetheanum.

At the heart of the festival was the question of how rhythm can support our lives and especially family life: between activity and rest, community and retreat, the familiar and the new.

What does it mean to think with the heart?

The Michaelmas Conference 2026 turns to the heart – the thinking, learning heart, and to feeling thinking as a new Michaelic impulse of knowledge.

How can an intelligence arise that turns to the cosmos, is at home in the cosmos, and at the same time arises in the heart?
Lectures, working and discussion groups, and the eurythmy performance of the Michael Imagination accompany this shared exploration.

Rudolf Steiner’s Order of the Twelve Senses as Relationships of Trust – a contribution by Matthias Rang to the mathematics study conference at the Goetheanum in October 2025.

How reliable are our senses? Using experiments with coloured shadows, Matthias Rang shows that it is not our senses that deceive us, but our judgement – and that subjective perception can at the same time be an objective, mathematising activity.

#34 Growing the Future: Young Voices in Biodynamic Farming
With Putri Mirayanti, Rafael Anguita, and Sudarshan Chaudhary

In this episode, we meet three inspiring young biodynamic farmers from around the world: Putri Mirayanti from Bali, Rafael Anguita from Chile, and Sudarshan Chaudhary from Nepal.

They share how biodynamic farming is taking root in their local communities, combining regenerative agricultural practices with cultural traditions, education, and community engagement. From biodynamic beekeeping and community markets to training young farmers and strengthening local food systems, each guest offers a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges of farming sustainably.

🎶 A celebration of shared sound
To mark 100 years of the lyre movement, people from around the world gathered at the Goetheanum from 29 July to 2 August.
For five days, concerts, shared music-making and attentive listening filled the Goetheanum. The diversity of generations was especially moving: from young participants to experienced musicians, all united by their joy in the lyre and their search for new musical impulses.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who performed, participated and brought these festival days to life!
