YUVA Indians at EPFL-UNIL Lausanne

Wegbeschreibung Website

Association of Indians at EPFL & UNIL YUVA – Eternal Youth. India to an outsider (and sometimes to an insider!) is a country of many contradictions.

We are a student association driven by the passion to promote Indian culture and diversity in the city of Lausanne. We want to be:

• The looking glass through which the international community can view the rich cultural kaleidoscope, that is India.

• The focal point/hub for the vibrant Indian student community by aiding its members in better understanding Swiss culture as well as provide a networking platform for its’ existing and new members. A country where cultural heritage and modernism merge to provide a colourful collage of what it is today. We are proud to be representatives of a nation whose greatest strength lies in her diversity; in language, music, dance, practises, and religion even. Through YUVA, the students of the EPFL and UNIL, would like to:

• represent Southeast Asian Indian culture with diverse events.
• promote greater understanding of our country amongst the international community.
• offer a forum for the expression of our individualities and our unique culture.
• warmly welcome and support new Indian students to Lausanne. Join us in celebrating this unity in diversity. YUVA-Indians does not officially endorse/support any message posted by any members of the community outside the YUVA-Indians Core Committee members, and shall take no responsibility of any consequences rooting out of such messages.

For this Yuvaali’s main cultural dance, we go back in time and space to the Bollywood of the 50s and 60s. Kishore Kumar’s tunes and Shammi Kapoor’s moves. An era characterized by the fusion of African American dance innovations and Indian music. Brought to you as part of a special collaboration with All that Swing EPFL-UNIL, who will join us for the celebrations. 💃💃💃

Excited? You too can be a part of this year’s Yuvaali dance. All that Swing EPFL-UNIL and YUVA - Indians are organizing a special workshop open to dancers of all levels.

So if you want to practice some swing steps before the big day, learn about how these dance genres from Harlem inspired Shammi Kapoor's moves, or meet new people and have fun, then join us this Saturday for a fun workshop.

📍 MED Hall 0, EPFL
🗓️ 17 October, 4pm to 6.30pm
