n their early life still die from infectious diseases. Life hangs by a thin thread: this is a fact we often ignore, until the unthinkable happens. Paediatric care is largely underdeveloped, because of lack of interest and funding: the efficacy and safety of more than 50 % of medicines commonly used have not been sufficiently tested. The diagnostic tests, the therapeutic means, the guidelines and directives have to be developed and controlled. In her memory, to give a sense to her life, and to prevent the death of other children her parents, Francesca and Peter, decided to create a foundation together with the doctors Dr. Marie-Hélène Perez and Dr. Jacques Cotting, to improve paediatric care, in particular emergency care and intensive care and in 2010 the Fondation Marisa Sophie was brought to life. Today, Marisa`s death saved the life of other children. Help us that more babies and children will have their next birthday.
