The project (1982) developed fast and attracted the attention e.g.

of the Bertelsmann Foundation, who nominated «Giraffe Heroes Project» in 2007.Giraffe Heroes expands its fight in Europe with the newly established Giraffe Heroes Foundation in Basel. “Giraffe Heroes" are men, women and young people sticking their necks out to help solve significant public problems, including poverty, injustice, corruption, gang violence, crimes against women, assaults on the environment and much more.

Last month I went to Basel and had the honour and pleasure to meet writer Judit Kiss. Three weeks later I made this podcast with her. She talks of courage, of traumas carried by genocide survivors in different places on the globe, she denounces scapegoat politics on migrant issues and about the power of literature. Her soft voice and Hungarian accent will enchant you. Listen till the end, it’s absolutely worth it.

PS: earlier this year, I made another podcast with her. But it had too many technical shortcomings, bad sound, bad video, … so that talk will soon be removed.
