CreativeMornings is a free, monthly breakfast lecture series for creative communities. Each event is free, and includes a 20 minute talk, plus coffee! vorträgt.

2008 startete Tina Roth Eisenberg als Bloggerin "swissmiss" mit CreativeMornings in NYC. Mittlerweile gibt es die CreativeMornings in über 200 Städten weltweit. Die monatlichen Frühstücksvorträge richten sich an Kreative und Leute auf der Suche nach Inspiration, sind kostenlos und Kaffee/Gipfeli werden offeriert. Pro Monat wird weltweit ein Thema vorgegeben zudem eine spannende Person aus deiner Stadt 20-30 min. Der CreativeMorning findet jeweils am letzten Freitag des Monats von 8.00-9.15 h (oder wer mag länger) statt. Der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm – sei dabei.

Last Friday we stepped away from our screens to spend the morning with the fabulous printmaker Lucinda Tanner Lucinda Tanner. She shared the path that brought her to where she is today, starting out in industrial design in Australia before moving to Switzerland and finding her creative home in large-scale relief printmaking.

Her talk set the tone for a fast-paced workshop. In just 40 minutes, everyone dove in with newspaper cutouts directly on the inked plates to mask shapes and build up layers. The concentration in the room was palpable as participants pulled their prints, including subtle ghost prints made from the leftover ink after the paper was lifted.

Before long, the tables were laid out with lovely, handmade greeting cards waiting to set.

During the 30-second pitches, Heidrun also introduced us to the Poetry Slam «Starke Stimmen» coming up on 16 October. You can find more info and tickets over at ZontaBasel, and keep an eye on our feed this week because we will be announcing a ticket giveaway for our community!

Behind the brick walls of the iconic Werkraum Warteck pp lies a 160-square-meter sanctuary dedicated to the beauty of slow, physical production: Druckwerk druckwerk Basel.

Tomorrow morning, this is where we gather.

Founded as an open, non-profit workshop association in 2016, Druckwerk is a working laboratory where historic printmaking crafts meet contemporary artistic experimentation. Walk through the doors and you are surrounded by real mechanical weight: vintage letterpress drawers full of lead type, stone lithography slabs, etching baths, and heavy relief presses that have spent decades rolling ink onto paper.

Printmaking isn’t preserved behind glass here. It is used, touched, and kept alive every single day by a passionate community of local artists, printmakers, and curious creators.

For our theme CURRENT, we couldn’t imagine a better setting to step away from screens and ground ourselves in the tangible, ink-stained craft of making by hand.

If you grabbed a ticket, remember to wear something you don't mind getting a stray smudge of ink on!

See you bright and early on the workshop floor tomorrow.

Our September theme is CURRENT. While modern life moves at the breakneck speed of the latest digital refresh, there is another kind of current: the physical pull of a craft that demands patience, touch, and presence.

This month, we are stepping right into that rhythm.

Join us at druckwerk Basel inside Werkraum Warteck pp for an intimate morning talk and hands-on printmaking workshop with acclaimed artist Lucinda Tanner Lucinda Tanner.

Celebrated for her monumental, intricate woodblock prints, Lucinda looks to the print workshop as a restorative antidote to modern screen fatigue. After an introduction to her craft, you will roll up your sleeves on the workshop floor to experiment directly with hand-printing methods, playing with color, typography, layering, and transparency.

Come for the warm coffee and morning bites, stay for the smell of fresh ink.
