CreativeMornings is a free, monthly breakfast lecture series for creative communities. Each event is free, and includes a 20 minute talk, plus coffee! vorträgt.

2008 startete Tina Roth Eisenberg als Bloggerin "swissmiss" mit CreativeMornings in NYC. Mittlerweile gibt es die CreativeMornings in über 200 Städten weltweit. Die monatlichen Frühstücksvorträge richten sich an Kreative und Leute auf der Suche nach Inspiration, sind kostenlos und Kaffee/Gipfeli werden offeriert. Pro Monat wird weltweit ein Thema vorgegeben zudem eine spannende Person aus deiner

Stadt 20-30 min. Der CreativeMorning findet jeweils am letzten Freitag des Monats von 8.00-9.15 h (oder wer mag länger) statt. Der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm – sei dabei.

Ahead of this Friday’s CreativeMornings Basel event, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible space hosting our community. Located within Warteck Werkraum pp, ELEVEN TEN STUDIO ELEVEN TEN STUDIO is an inspiring example of creative resilience and community-building in action.

Founded by visual artist and curator Aleksandra Cegielska Aleksandra Cegielska, the studio has journeyed from a small pop-up exhibition space into a permanent, independent platform dedicated to contemporary art. It functions as a unique hybrid framework, bridging presentation and production by combining an active exhibition gallery with Aleksandra’s personal working studio. This setup not only demystifies the artistic process but intentionally platforms emerging and independent artists through experimental formats and publications that foster a direct dialogue between creators and the public.

ELEVEN TEN STUDIO perfectly mirrors our August theme of NAKHLAH (adapting and staying rooted), demonstrating how flexible, artist-led spaces can truly enrich Basel’s broader cultural ecosystem.

When a fierce storm hits, rigid trees fight the wind until they snap. The palm tree does something completely different. It bends, rides out the gusts, and stays rooted 🌴

Our August theme is NAKHLAH (Arabic for palm), and we’re exploring what it really takes to stay adaptable when plans change, pressure builds, and creative journeys take unexpected turns.

Joining us at ELEVEN TEN STUDIO ELEVEN TEN STUDIO is artist, curator, and author Aleksandra Cegielska.

After 12 years in marketing, Aleksandra hit reset to build an art career from scratch. Over four years of learning, pivoting, and adapting, she grew what started as a small pop-up into a permanent, independent gallery right here in Basel.

As part of Kunsttage Basel, Aleksandra will share the honest story of that transition, navigating creative pressure, and the art of bending without breaking. Afterwards, she’ll lead us through an exclusive curatorial walkthrough of the gallery’s current exhibition, SUPERMARKET.

And of course, fresh morning bakes and coffee will be waiting for you thanks to Bites! 🥐☕

Our theme for August is NAKHLAH. It was chosen by our Khobar chapter in Saudi Arabia and illustrated by Rahaf Al-Badri.

Nakhlah نخلة (pronounced NAKH·lah) is an Arabic word meaning “palm.”

When a storm hits, palm trees bend with the wind while other trees break and fall. So, in times of adversity, look to the palm for inspiration.
