The primary business of the Society is the organization of the annual congress. This 3.5 day congress aims to bring delegates together to establish personal contacts and to promote the exchange of knowledge between vitreoretinal and macula specialists in Europe. Specialists in the area of retina are invited to attend and present lectures and to share new techniques from all over the world. The key
educational objective of the congress is to provide delegates with the most up to date information on new developments and studies in the field of retina. This is achieved through a number of media: main sessions, instructional courses and hands-on surgical skills training courses, didactic courses, key-note lectures, satellite symposia and free paper sessions. The Society comprises of a Board of Officers who are responsible for the general management of the Society.
