The BCT (Basel Children’s Trust) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that provides community, support, and information to expectant parents and families with young children living in the Basel area: from "bump" to "babe" and "beyond". Through our many programs like playgroups, workshops, monthly newsletters and social events the BCT supports members on the incredible journey which is paren

ting. Founded in 1992 with only 29 members, today we support more than 100 families from around the world with English as the common spoken language. We are a community of international and local families with young children who want to be involved - with other members, with our wider community, and with the surrounding Basel region.

Calling all nature and animal lovers! Join us for a lazy summer afternoon family-friendly nature walk in the park in Reinach. There’s a petting zoo, a space to grill and potentially cooling down in the Birs. It will be a lovely way to spend a summer afternoon outdoors!

🌸 A Beautiful Mother’s Day Celebration at The Magical Cafe 🌸

This past weekend, Basel Children’s Trust and The Magical Cafe were delighted to host a very special Mother’s Day Brunch, bringing together families from our community for a relaxed and heartfelt morning of celebration. Mothers were welcomed with refreshing mimosas and enjoyed a delicious homemade brunch in the cosy atmosphere of The Magical Cafe.

The children had a wonderful time taking part in craft activities and exploring a fantastic selection of toys kindly provided by Wurzelhüsli Toy Shop, specialists in quality children’s toys for over 25 years. Their thoughtfully chosen toys brought so much joy and fun to the morning and were enjoyed by children of all ages.

One of the most meaningful parts of the event was celebrating the incredible mothers and caregivers in our community, each receiving a special gift prepared with love and appreciation. We would also like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers from ISB whose help and support throughout the event made the morning run so smoothly. Your kindness, energy and enthusiasm were truly appreciated.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable. We loved seeing families connect, relax and celebrate together in such a warm and welcoming environment 💕

Come and join us for a warm and welcoming celebration for families to come together and honour the amazing mothers and caregivers in our community. Bring your mom, grandma or anyone who deserves some extra love and tasty treats. Let’s make this Mother’s Day unforgettable together!

Guests can enjoy a delicious brunch in a relaxed, family-friendly setting, while children take part in light activities and creative craft moments designed to make the day extra special. The event offers a chance to connect with other families, build friendships and create meaningful memories together. At its heart, this gathering reflects our shared mission of supporting families, strengthening community bonds and celebrating the people who make a difference every day.
