HAPPY 2025 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION

It gladdens my heart to join the world in celebrating this year’s International Women’s Day, a day set aside to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women in every sphere of life.

On this special occasion, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Helen Obareki, and to women across the world. Your contributions to family, society, and governance cannot be overlooked. You continue to inspire hope, drive change, and shape the future with your dedication and sacrifices.

Here in Akwa Ibom State, we are blessed to have a leader who truly values and uplifts women. Our father, Governor Umo Eno, Ph.D, has not only preached inclusivity but has demonstrated it through action. Under his leadership, women are thriving in governance, serving as Chairpersons of Local Government Councils, Commissioners, Members of the House of Assembly, Vice Chairmen of Councils, Councillors, Supervisors, and more. His commitment to giving women a voice and a seat at the table speaks volumes about his leadership and vision for a more progressive and balanced society.

This year’s theme, "Accelerate Action," reminds us that the fight for gender equality and women's empowerment is far from over. It is a call for all of us, women and men, to work together in breaking barriers, dismantling stereotypes, and ensuring that every woman has the opportunity to reach her full potential.

As we celebrate, let us support one another, amplify our voices, and continue striving for a society where no woman is left behind. Together, we will keep pushing boundaries, setting new standards, and shaping a brighter future.
