🚸 Friendly Reminder: School Is Back in Session! 📚

Fayette County schools return Monday, August 3rd, and that means it's time for everyone's favorite morning adventure!

Be on the lookout for:
🚌 Students boarding and exiting school buses.
🚸 Our awesome crossing guards helping kids safely cross the street.
🎮 Children in Roblox and Fortnite detox.
🚗 Parents convincing their little bundles of joy that they really do have to go to school.

Please slow down, stay alert, obey school zone speeds, and stop for school buses with their red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

Let's all work together to make sure every student arrives safely—and every parent makes it through the drop-off line with at least a little of their sanity intact.

Have a safe and successful school year, Fayette County!

🚸 School Zones Are Not Suggestions. 🚸

Fayette County schools will be back in session on Aug 3rd, 2026, and we'd like to clear up a common misconception:

❌ The flashing school zone lights are not a recommendation.
❌ "I'm running late" is not a legal defense.
❌ And no, being five minutes behind schedule while delivering your little bundle of joy does not magically increase the speed limit.

School zone speed limits exist because children are unpredictable. They walk, run, chase dropped backpacks, and occasionally forget the laws of physics, not to mention they are going through Roblox Detox.

Leave a few minutes earlier, slow down, stay off your phone, and help us make sure every student gets to school—and back home—safely.

The only thing that should be racing through a school zone is your child telling their friends what they did over summer break.

🚍 School's Back... and So Are the Big Yellow Buses! 📚

Friendly reminder: Fayette County schools are back in session on Monday, August 3rd!

That means you'll once again be sharing the road with our favorite oversized yellow alarm clocks.

Here's a fun fact that won't be fun for your wallet: Every Fayette County school bus is equipped with stop-arm cameras. If you decide that those flashing red lights and extended stop arm are merely "suggestions," the cameras will gladly preserve your starring role in high definition.

And don't worry—you won't have to wonder if you were caught. One of our officers will be happy to stop by and discuss your driving decisions... in person. Think of it as customer service, but with a citation.

Slow down, stop for school buses, and help keep our kids safe. Let's make sure everyone's first day of school ends with homework—not paperwork.
