The link to a Gazette article (text in the comments) describes a tenuous situation with Ali Wicks-Lim & the Amherst LGBTQIA+ Caucus and Amherst Regional Public Schools. Ali is one of the most influential supporters of Hampshire Pride and once taught our Director the phrase, “WE PROTECT US!”

And so, three of our Pride Committee members attended and spoke during the public comment portion of the ARPS committee meeting on June 23rd. We offered evidence of misconduct, cautionary tales, and even offered ARPS our training services to make positive changes occur in the staff.

These are the positive protests that Hampshire Pride believes in. Let’s make q***r and trans students in Amherst Schools safe!

AMHERST — An end-of-year event at Amherst Regional Middle School is drawing criticism after students were directed to a counselor whom some LGBTQIA+ students were prohibited from contacting because of no-contact orders stemming from an earlier Title IX case. Critics say the event, advertised with ...

Today we celebrate LGBTQ+ Equality Day, marking the anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court decision that established marriage equality nationwide.

This year, we were honored to witness this equality in action when Nicholas Brimmer D'Amours and Mason Brimmer D'Amours were married at Hampshire Pride 💖

Their ceremony was a beautiful reminder that Pride is a celebration of love, family, community, and the freedom to build a life with the people who matter most.

Happy LGBTQ+ Equality Day! 🌈💜

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, father figures, chosen dads, grandfathers, caregivers, nurturers, protectors, and community caretakers in our LGBTQ+ community and beyond 💖🌈

Today, we celebrate the people who show up with love, support, strength, compassion, and care, in all the many ways family can look. We especially want to honor q***r dads, trans and seahorse dads, nonbinary dads, adoptive dads, foster dads, and those who have created loving homes and safe spaces for others.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can be complicated or painful for many members of our community. Whether today brings joy, grief, longing, healing, celebration, or a mix of emotions, you are seen and valued here.

Thank you to everyone helping build a world where all families are loved, protected, and celebrated.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Hampshire Pride 🏳️‍🌈✨

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free... more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation took effect.

Today, we celebrate and honor Black resilience, brilliance, joy, culture, and community while recognizing that freedom is a promise that has not yet been fully realized for all.

We also recognize the unique experiences of Black LGBTQIA+ people, whose lives exist at the intersection of multiple movements for justice. Blackness and q***rness are not separate stories, and LGBTQIA+ history cannot be told without Black history. Across generations, Black q***r and trans people have been at the forefront of movements for liberation, through legal advocacy, protest, mutual aid, and coalition-building, helping shape both the fight for racial justice and the movement for LGBTQIA+ liberation.

Juneteenth reminds us that liberation is not one struggle, but many interconnected struggles. It reminds us that liberation is not a destination we can reach alone, and that none of us are free until all of us are free.

Today we celebrate. Every day, we remember. Every day, we continue the work.

Happy Juneteenth.

We are nearly on hour 11 of the Environmental Bond Bill debate in the House but I have to take a minute to celebrate Clay Pearson, nominated by Senator Jo Comerford and me, as the inguarual Excellence Awards nominee for the .
If you don't know, Clay is the incredible organizer of Hampshire Pride and a fierce defender of the LGBTQ community.
After the ceremony, I had the chance to sit and talk to Clay about the many ways the fight for equality is no where near complete. With people like Clay in our community though, we will keep bending the arc.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, mother figures, chosen moms, grandmothers, caregivers, nurturers, protectors, and community caretakers in our LGBTQ+ community and beyond 💖🌈

Today, we celebrate the people who show up with love, support, strength, compassion, and care, in all the many ways family can look. We especially want to honor q***r moms, trans moms, nonbinary moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, and those who have created loving homes and safe spaces for others simply by being themselves.

We also recognize that Mother’s Day can be complicated or painful for some members of our community. Whether today brings joy, grief, longing, healing, celebration, or a mix of emotions, you are seen and valued here.

Thank you to everyone helping build a world where all families are loved, protected, and celebrated.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Hampshire Pride 🏳️‍🌈✨
