Hello Moms for Liberty Wayne County:

Debbie Lochner & I formally resigned from Moms for Liberty Wayne County executive board. It has been an amazing 4+ years working to educate and empower parents to fight for their parental rights.
New York State is a Goliath of our day. We need change at the top as well as fighting for our voice in our school boards. It’s hard to do both at the same time. My personal focus will be still at the local, county and state level, but it will look different moving forward.
If you are interested in taking on a leadership role in this chapter, please let Jennifer Grinager know. She is the Transition Specialist at Moms for Liberty who helps chapters find leadership.
Thank you so much for everyone who has gone to (or watched) school board meetings, wrote letters & emails, stood out in rallies etc. It has been an honor of a lifetime for fight for Wayne County.
In Liberty,
Jennifer Williams

In a groundbreaking move, Florida announces plans to become the first state to eliminate all vaccine mandates, including those required for school entry. Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo’s push to repeal mandates for vaccines like hepatitis B, chickenpox, and pneumococcal diseases has sparked national attention. The state aims to prioritize individual choice over government-imposed health regulations, making it a beacon for liberty. While some changes can happen through the health department, Florida will need legislative approval to fully dismantle these mandates, a process set for early 2026. Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature are standing up for personal rights and rejecting one-size-fits-all policies.

New York's electric bus mandate requires all school districts, starting in 2027, purchase only electric buses. Their entire fleet must transition to zero-emission electric school buses by 2035. This is already a problem because your local school districts often take an 8-year loan on something as expensive as a bus fleet and school boards are now faced with bad choices. At $300,000 to $450,000 per bus, your school taxes could take a serious jump and some school districts have told me they'd have to double the size of their fleet to accommodate for short ranges and charge times.
What is more, many areas of our grid don't even have enough power to charge the buses; even if they could spend the millions in transmission, charging stations, and infrastructure upgrades. And in cold climates, they're installing diesel heaters on electric buses so the passengers don't freeze. For some school districts, this mandate is actually impossible, for others, it's ridiculously costly and dangerous.
Finally, I represent a couple of schools who took state incentives to become early adopters and test out the e-buses. I've spoken to the superintendents and the mechanics. The buses are preforming even worse than the low expectations we had (technology which simply isn't close). One school anecdotally said the buses spend more time on a flatbed tow truck than they spend delivering students.
The Empire Center estimates over $8billion taxpayers will spend on this wasteful and dangerous pet project. If Governor Hochul could apply common sense and actually cared about affordability, she'd reverse the mandate right now.

Seattle Public Schools are now stocking “gender-affirming” products—like chest binders, Transtape, and tucking underwear—in student lockers for free access.

Launched with Seattle Children’s Hospital in March 2025, this “Community Health Lockers” program raises an alarming question: Why are public schools promoting items that can cause serious physical harm to kids?

Recently, an attorney, Emma Hulse, falsely framed her argument for the “Freedom to Read Act” as a necessary law to fight so-called book-banning. Moms for Liberty Wayne County NY was named in her article. Her editorial was published at Syracuse.com.

This is our response to set the record straight and to fight the defamation the left continues to wage against parents standing up to the bullies in NYS, especially the NEA and NYSUT. We are placing it here in the event Syracuse.com does not publish our rebuttal to the false premise laid out by Hulse.

Bill awaiting governor’s signature would protect books in school libraries from efforts to ban them, writes NYCLU education counsel.
