🏅 *IOC Announces Historic Support for All Olympians.*
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that every eligible Olympian will receive a US$10,000 (≈ ₹8.5 lakh) grant, starting from the 2026 Winter Olympics.
📌 Key Points:
1. Every athlete who competes at the Olympic Games will be eligible, regardless of results or medals.
2. The grant is not prize money and is intended to support athletes during and after their sporting careers.
3. Athletes with anti-doping violations or serious Olympic rule breaches will not be eligible.
4. Around 14,000 Olympians are expected to benefit each Olympic cycle.
5. The initiative will be funded through a new IOC athlete support fund worth approximately US$140 million.
A historic first from the IOC, recognizing the achievement of simply becoming an Olympian.
