The AWCY-DRC organized, on March 6, 2026 in Uvira, an advocacy workshop bringing together Economic Interest Groups (EIGs) and local state services, as part of the QUALIPRO project financed by GIZ. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen the economic empowerment of women and youth through sustainable entrepreneurial initiatives.

The workshop brought together representatives of the GIEs supported by the project, local administrative authorities as well as the technical services of the State, in particular those responsible (DGI); in charge of SMEs, DPMER; PMEA; the INPP; Department of Culture and Arts.

The main objective of this meeting was to create a space for exchange and dialogue between economic groups and public institutions in order to strengthen collaboration for the development of income-generating activities.

During the discussions, the members of the GIE presented their activities, the progress made as well as the challenges they face, in particular access to markets, technical supervision and the availability of agricultural inputs. The state services present, for their part, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting these community initiatives by providing technical and institutional support.

Through this advocacy workshop, the AWCY-DRC and its partner GIZ/QUALIPRO contribute to strengthening links between community stakeholders and public institutions, thus promoting an environment more favorable to local economic development and community resilience. of Uvira. 🌱🤝 OCHA DR Congo

In Uvira, the AWCY-DRC distributed agricultural kits for the benefit of 50 internally displaced women affected by the humanitarian crisis in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This activity was made possible thanks to the technical and financial support of its partner GIZ through the QUALIPRO project.

Beneficiaries received improved seeds, sprayers, watering cans, hoes and rakes, essential inputs intended to strengthen their agricultural production capacities. This initiative is part of the economic empowerment program for displaced women, aimed at restoring their livelihoods and promoting their resilience to socio-economic shocks.

Beyond simple material support, this action represents a real glimmer of hope for these women who have lost their property and their sources of income following armed conflicts. By relaunching their agricultural activities, they will be able to improve the food security of their households, fight against child malnutrition and generate income to meet the essential needs of their families.

Through this project, AWCY-DRC and GIZ/QUALIPRO are concretely contributing to local economic recovery and strengthening the dignity of displaced women in Uvira.

In Uvira, in a context marked by war and loss, hope is gradually being reborn through the “Mtoto na Shule – Children and school for a better future” project.

Thanks to the valuable support of our potential partner Associazione Calibrì and various Italian benefactors, the AWCY-DRC paid the school fees of 25 orphaned children who lost both parents during this period of conflict. For these children, deeply marked by pain and uncertainty, returning to school was no longer obvious, but a dream that seemed unattainable.

Paying their school fees represents much more than just financial support. It is an act of love, a gesture of international solidarity that restores dignity and confidence.

It is the opportunity to sit in class, learn, write their future and believe in better days again.

In their eyes, we see hope reborn. In their smiles, we read gratitude.
Together, we transform suffering into opportunity and we build, step by step, a better future for the children of Uvira. 📚✨

On February 6, the AWCY – DRC organized a revitalization workshop for 14 Economic Interest Groups (EIGs) in the AWCY – DRC room in Kavimvira, in the town of Uvira. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen economic empowerment, resilience and the revival of income-generating activities within local communities.

The workshop brought together representatives of GIEs, community leaders and the technical team of the AWCY – DRC. The discussions focused on evaluating the current functioning of the groups, identifying strategies for conquering the local market, Digital Marketing, identifying the challenges encountered, sharing experiences and defining sustainable recovery strategies. Particular attention was paid to good group governance, financial management and collaboration between members.

Through this initiative, the AWCY – DRC reaffirms its commitment to supporting local dynamics of inclusive entrepreneurship and to supporting community initiatives promoting sustainable development and social cohesion. 💪🌱

‎L’AEJT-RDCONGO a pris part, à travers son Président du Conseil d’Administration (PCA), au webinaire organisé par CREA-PAIX, consacré à l’analyse et à la gestion des conflits interethniques.
‎Cette rencontre a mobilisé des organisations de la société civile africaine, des plateformes de jeunesse, ainsi que des institutions nationales et internationales engagées dans la promotion de la cohésion sociale et de la paix durable.
‎Aux côtés de UNICEF, de UNFPA, de PNUD, du Conseil National de la Jeunesse (CNJ-RDC), ainsi que d’autres réseaux de la société civile œuvrant pour la prévention des conflits, les échanges ont permis d’approfondir la compréhension des dynamiques interethniques, d’identifier les causes profondes des tensions communautaires et d’explorer des stratégies innovantes de médiation et de transformation pacifique des conflits.
‎Facilitée par la Dr Maham Nina Epse N’Guessam, experte en consolidation de la paix, cette session a renforcé les capacités des participants en leadership sensible aux contextes fragiles, en médiation communautaire et en promotion du vivre-ensemble.
‎La participation du PCA de l’AEJT-RDCONGO traduit notre engagement institutionnel ferme à travailler en synergie avec les agences des Nations Unies, les organisations régionales et la société civile pour bâtir des communautés résilientes et inclusives.

Collaboration institutionnelle –AEJT-RDCONGO ASBL et Secrétariat Technique National de la Résolution 2250 (Agenda Jeunesse, Paix et Sécurité)
l'association des Enfants Jeunes Travailleurs RDCONGO ASBL (AEJT-RDCONGO ASBL) a pris part, le 17 février 2026, à la réunion convoquée par le Secrétariat Technique National dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de la Résolution 2250, aux côtés de plus de 60 organisations de jeunes engagées dans la promotion de la paix et de la participation citoyenne. Cette rencontre visait à identifier les organisations actives dans cet agenda et à les structurer en Groupes Techniques de Travail (GTT) selon leurs provinces et domaines d’intervention. L'AEJT-RDCONGO ASBL salue la tenue de cette rencontre stratégique, qui ouvre des perspectives d’actions concrètes dans différentes zones marquées par des défis sécuritaires et sociaux, en vue de renforcer la cohésion sociale, la participation des jeunes et l’accompagnement communautaire des populations affectées. Notre organisation remercie les organisateurs ainsi que la Coordinatrice du STN de l’Agenda 2250 pour la qualité de la facilitation et des échanges.

Documenter avec sensibilité aux conflits, c’est protéger aujourd’hui, apprendre ensemble et agir mieux demain

En date du 23 Janvier 2026, l'organisation -RDCONGO # a pris part aux échanges de la Communauté de Pratiques en Sensibilité aux Conflits, organisés par Internationale à travers leur centre d'expertise en Sensibilité aux conflits , à Bukavu.

Cette rencontre a réuni des acteurs humanitaires, de développement et de paix répartis en et , autour de l’outil de documentation en Sensibilité aux Conflits.

Les échanges et exercices pratiques ont permis de renforcer les capacités des participants, de partager les expériences et d’identifier des approches plus efficaces pour intégrer la sensibilité aux conflits dans les interventions.

Pour l'AEJT-RDCONGO, cette activité a été une opportunité de consolider ses connaissances et d’améliorer ses pratiques au service des communautés.
