⚡ There is no sustainable development without electricity.
Access to reliable electricity is essential for quality healthcare, education, economic development and the well-being of communities.
In 2022, GIERI, with the valuable support of GIZ, contributed to the electrification of four medical centres in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo: Nzibira, Kolula, Nyalubemba and Ludaha.
💡 Bringing electricity to these health facilities means more than simply providing light. It creates better conditions for healthcare workers to operate, improves the storage and use of medical equipment, and allows patients to receive care in safer and more appropriate conditions—especially during the night and in emergencies.
We hope that this intervention has contributed to improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients and strengthening the capacity of these medical centres to serve their communities.
