Unity and Peace: Standing Strong in Our Shared Mission🕊️✝️

It is always a true privilege and a deep joy to stand alongside our community, rooted in our shared values of peace, reconciliation, and non-violence.
I had the great honor of spending time with these dedicated brothers who are driving meaningful work forward. To my left is Felo Gracias (Project Assistant for MCC 4th CEFMC), and to my right is Brother Jean Paul (Secretary of the General Secretariat and Representation of the 4th CEFMC).
As Mennonites, our commitment to peaceful coexistence and supporting the vulnerable isn't just a philosophy—it is a daily practice. In Christ, we find the strength to remain unified, resilient, and focused on bringing hope and real change to those who need it most. Together, we are stronger.

International Day of Non-Violence: A Message from the Founder

On this October 2nd, as the world marks the International Day of Non-Violence, I want to share a simple but firm reminder with our entire community.

Violence has never been, and will never be, the answer. It only destroys our families, tears apart our communities, and robs our children of their future. Real, lasting strength does not come from conflict—it lives in our capacity for dialogue, trauma healing, education, and genuine solidarity.

At the Peace Foundation-DRC, choosing non-violence is our daily commitment on the ground. We work every single day to replace tears with real hope by building up the most vulnerable. Non-violence is an active, courageous choice we must make together in our words, our actions, and our decisions.

Let us join hands to build a more just, dignified, and peaceful society for the generations to come.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Healing Hearts to Build the Future

On this unique day dedicated to truth and reconciliation, the family of the Peace Foundation-DRC stands united to remind us all that peace is far more than just the absence of conflict. It is a deep, personal journey toward healing the wounds of our past.

In our communities across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, years of hardship have left behind deep trauma. At the foundation, we firmly believe that no sustainable peace can ever be built without facing these pains honestly, listening to one another with an open heart, and courageously choosing the path of forgiveness.

Reconciliation always begins at the grassroots level—within our households, through the care we provide to vulnerable children, and through real, honest dialogue between communities.

Today, we renew our commitment to being active builders of this social reconstruction. Together, let us transform our scars into bridges of solidarity. 🤝✨

This field evaluation was so important because it allowed us to lay everything out on the table and clearly identify the real needs on the ground. Our main goal is to bring true, lasting social change to a community that has felt abandoned and overlooked for far too long. Sitting down and listening to their struggles firsthand is the only way we can design a practical, dignified support system that actually works for these kids.

BRINGING HOPE AND SMILES TO THESE CHILDREN.

Looking into the eyes of these beautiful children at the Asel Orphanage was a moment of pure joy, but it also deeply touched my heart. Seeing their strength and their bright smiles in the middle of such difficult surroundings reminds me why we do this work. They are the heart of this community, and they truly deserve a better, more secure future.
We can all make a difference in their lives, and they honestly need all of us to stand by them. May God provide for their needs and guide our steps as we work to bring real, lasting comfort to their daily lives.

DRIVING A SOCIAL CHANGE IN KWILU PROVINCE/DRC

Currently on the ground here in the Kwilu province, I find myself looking back at a vital step we took just about a month ago. Together with a member of the 4th CEFMC Mbandu church, we traveled to the commune of Nzinda for a critical assessment mission. The staff and leaders at the Asel Orphanage gave us a very warm welcome for a deep working session.
This field evaluation was so important because it allowed us to lay everything out on the table and clearly identify the real needs on the ground. Our main goal is to bring true, lasting social change to a community that has felt abandoned and overlooked for far too long. Sitting down and listening to their struggles firsthand is the only way we can design a practical, dignified support system that actually works for these kids.
We owe a huge thank you to everyone at the Asel Orphanage for opening their doors to us and for the raw honesty of our discussions. Being back on the ground today reminds me that real social change always starts at the grassroots level, working hand in hand with the people who need it most. 🤝✨

In Honor of Miguel Masaïsaï

It is with an incredibly heavy heart and a profound sense of sorrow that the family of the PEACE FOUNDATION-DRC (PF-DRC) learns of the tragic passing of our young brother, athlete, and peace ambassador, Miguel Masaïsaï.
Originally from Goma, Miguel chose to turn his bicycle into a powerful tool for harmony. Through his historic "Pedals for Peace" initiative, he pushed his physical limits across thousands of miles to shout a vital message to the world: the urgent need for unity, healing, and an end to the conflicts tearing apart the eastern part of our country. After riding from Goma to Kinshasa, he lost his life while pushing forward on his dream to pedal all the way to Morocco, purely driven by a desire to give a voice to a generation that deserves dignity and hope.
The Executive Directorate of PF-DRC extends its deepest, most heartfelt condolences to his biological family, his close friends, and to everyone in the peacebuilding community who cheered him on along his long roads.
War destroys lives, shatters promising futures, and cuts down our most beautiful talents. Facing this immense heartbreak, PF-DRC strongly reiterates its urgent appeal to everyone: we must wholeheartedly embrace the path of peace. Miguel’s physical journey came to an end far too soon, but the sacred message he carried in his heart must keep moving forward through each of us.
Rest in peace, Champion of Peace. Your sacrifice, your courage, and your beautiful spirit will never be forgotten by our nation.
