Who We Are
ADDAH is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to advancing sustainable development and delivering principled humanitarian assistance to vulnerable and crisis-affected populations. Founded on the principles of solidarity and social justice, ADDAH adopts a people-centered approach, grounded in the conviction that all individuals have the right to live in dignity, safety, and with prospects for a better future.
Our Mandate
ADDAH operates through a dual nexus approach, bridging humanitarian response and development programming:
Humanitarian Assistance: providing timely, life-saving and life-sustaining assistance to populations affected by natural hazards, armed conflict, forced displacement, and protracted crises, in line with humanitarian principles (humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence).
Sustainable Development: strengthening community resilience through inclusive, locally driven and sustainable solutions, aimed at reducing vulnerabilities and fostering socio-economic self-reliance.
Our Core Values
ADDAH’s interventions are guided by internationally recognized humanitarian and development principles:
Humanity: ensuring that human suffering is addressed wherever it is found, with particular attention to the most vulnerable.
Impartiality and Non-Discrimination: delivering assistance solely based on needs, without discrimination of any kind.
Dignity: upholding and protecting the inherent dignity and rights of affected populations.
Accountability and Transparency: ensuring responsible stewardship of resources and accountability to affected populations and partners.
Sustainability: promoting environmentally sound and climate-resilient interventions aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Areas of Intervention
ADDAH implements multi-sectoral programmes across humanitarian and development contexts:
Refugee and IDP Response: protection-sensitive assistance, including shelter support, psychosocial services (PSS), distribution of non-food items (NFIs), and durable solutions/reintegration pathways.
Food Security and Nutrition (FSN): livelihoods support, climate-smart agriculture, support to producer groups/cooperatives, and integrated nutrition interventions to address acute and chronic malnutrition.
Health: community-based health programming, primary healthcare support, health promotion, and disease prevention.
Education: access to quality education for vulnerable children, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) for youth and women.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) & Community Development: development of essential infrastructure, including water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and renewable energy solutions, alongside economic empowerment initiatives.
Protection, Advocacy and Human Rights: promoting social cohesion, peacebuilding, and advocating for the rights of marginalized and at-risk populations.
Our Vision
ADDAH envisions a world where crisis-affected and vulnerable populations recover their dignity, build resilience, and actively contribute to inclusive, sustainable, and equitable development.
