Chinese Rainbow Network (CRN) was founded in 1996, consisting of Chinese individuals who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) living in North America. In 2015, CRN became the sole registered non-profit organization exclusively for Chinese LGBT members in the United States. Currently, CRN has a following of more than 4,000 as of September 2017. The concept of community is essential in a diversified world. For a long time, Chinese LGBT members have remained invisible due to various factors, facing pressure from society and family alone. The initial goal of CRN was to establish a omni-directional and multi-functional community platform, so that every Chinese LGBT member who left their homes would have a sense of belonging in North America.
