Whether you sew by hand or machine, quilt, mend, or create from scratch, we are inviting seniors to pass on their knowledge to a new generation eager to learn the art of practical self-sufficiency.

To foster intergenerational wisdom sharing and relations, we are prioritizing seniors (50+) who have these skills and would be interested in sharing their knowledge in a small group setting.

To foster intergenerational knowledge-sharing (a pillar of EJYC's values) we're primarily looking for elders excited to impart their wisdom of sewing, alterations, darning, embroidery -- even proper laundry care! (Financial compensation will be provided thanks to funding from the City of Toronto's Live Green program)

Celebrate your dearest friends & loves with our Valentine’s Day offering: a 5x7 notecard with design hand-carved and printed by our resident artist vlada, a poem from The Decom Post team, an envelope, and mailing postage — all for $5! Orders can be placed at the link in our bio, or via etransfer to [email protected].

Cards will be mailed out or delivered locally as ordered. We recommend getting orders in by Feb 7 to have them in time for Valentine’s Day, but we will still continue taking orders past then and will have cards for sale at our launch party for The Decom Post.

Proceeds will go towards The Decom Post, a youth-led newspaper committed to transforming the narrative around Toronto’s local food systems. We experience the destruction of our current systems as a kind of decomposition, a necessary death to make way for life. Thus, our newspaper turns to those of us who are finding ways to feed our communities amid this turbulence, to those candles in the dark that guide us toward radiant, radical possibilities.
