🧡 BGC Yorkton will be CLOSED Wednesday, September 30th, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

September 30th is a day to honour Residential School Survivors, their families and communities, and to remember the children who never returned home. It is also an opportunity for all of us to listen, learn, reflect, and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation.

We encourage our BGC community to take some time tomorrow to:

🧡 Learn about the history and lasting impacts of the residential school system
🧡 Listen to and learn from Indigenous voices, stories and experiences
🧡 Wear orange in recognition of Every Child Matters
🧡 Take time for personal reflection and conversations with family, friends and youth
🧡 Learn about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action and consider what reconciliation means in our own communities
🧡 Support local Indigenous-led organizations, events and initiatives

The 94 Calls to Action:

Read the https://nctr.ca/about/truth-and-reconciliation-commission-of-canada-calls-to-action/

Let’s use this day not only to remember, but to listen, learn and take meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

Every Child Matters.
