Dene Nahjo

Dene Nahjo Land, Language and Culture. Forever. Dene Nahjo started as a grassroots collective of young northerners who came together under the guidance of elders.

Dene Nahjo is a new generation of leaders and community builders working to advance social and environmental justice for northern peoples and promote indigenous leadership. We began an ongoing conversation within and between northern communities concerning whether or not the status quo is working for our people. Our name “Dene Nahjo” reflects the fact that many of our current members are Dene and that our work began in Denendeh (land of the people). Dene Nahjo is a project of Tides Canada.

Please join Dene Nahjo and YKDFN at our community hide camp May 15-24, 2026.

If you want to bring a hide to work on you must register! If you just want to visit camp you don't have to register but you can. :)

Interested volunteers please register!

Camp will be held at the Wıìlıìdeh site (across from Yellowknife River Day Use).
