The GNWT and CIRNAC have proposed terminating the 1997 Environmental Agreement and shutting down the Independent Environmental Monitoring Agency (IEMA). As the Ekati Diamond Mine transitions into closure following Burgundy Diamond Mines' receivership, independent technical oversight is more critical than ever.

The Agency will provide updates throughout the consultation process on our website and Facebook. Please reach out to us if you would like to learn more or have questions.
