SAFE SPORT. STRONGER TOGETHER.

Volleyball should be a place where everyone feels safe, respected, supported and welcome. Whether you are an athlete, coach, official, volunteer, parent or supporter, we all have a role to play in creating positive sport experiences.

Safe Sport means knowing the safeguards that are in place. It means appropriate screening and training, following the Rule of Two, setting clear expectations for behaviour, protecting athletes, and having a process to raise concerns when something does not feel right.

It also means asking questions. Parents and athletes should feel comfortable asking who is responsible, how adults working with athletes are screened, how coaches communicate with athletes, what happens during travel and in change rooms, and who they can speak with if they have a concern.

Positive experiences help people develop confidence, belonging and a love of sport that can last a lifetime. Safe Sport starts with all of us.

Move. Learn. Connect. Have fun. Sport gives us so many opportunities to build confidence, competence, friendships, and healthy habits that can stay with us for life. We love this message from Physical Literacy NWT. Every opportunity to move matters!

Being active is about so much more than exercise!!! Movement helps us build stronger bodies, but it can also help sharpen our minds, lift our mood, build confidence, create friendships, and support our health for years to come. And the best part? Being active can look different for everyone.

Physical Literacy is about helping people develop the confidence, competence, and motivation to be active in ways they enjoy, throughout their lives. Every opportunity to move matters. Move more. Feel better. Live well.
