Hey friends,
We want to take a moment this morning to thank the many people it took to successfully look after the hundreds of people displaced from Fort Simpson for the past 3 weeks here in Yellowknife.

From the City of Yellowknife (Elizabeth is a rock star), GNWT, to those who donated monetarily and practically, and especially for us, the many volunteers, and the teams of Emergency Disaster Specialists and Directors who came from across Canada, to ensure that our guests were looked after in the best ways possible. We could not have done this without each of you.

As everyone returns home, our EDS team is already cleaning up and restocking all the equipment for the next time. So, if you see them around town in the clearly marked EDS vehicles, give them a shout out, as they are here from the east coast to the west coast and many provinces in between. They are always ready to respond, no matter where the need is, and for that, we are so grateful.

Hey Friends, as we are well into the 3rd week with our evacuee friends from Fort Simpson, the needs are growing for some items in short supply. If you have any towels lying around that you could donate, that would be so helpful. Also, if you are wondering how to help, by donating, we could also use fresh fruit. These items can be dropped off at the Multiplex, or our office at 4925 45th Street. And THANK-YOU Yellowknife for being the generous community that you are.

Hey Friends, in addition to the items required below, with the number of evacuees registered approaching 700, if you have any hand towels, bath towels, or facecloths that you can spare, that would be so appreciated. Also, we are running extremely low on fruit. So, if you want to help by donating, there's a great idea. All items can be dropped off at the Multiplex, or our offices on 45th Street. THANK-YOU Yellowknife, for being the generous community that you are.
