YWCA NWT’s Board of Directors would like to notify members and the public that the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 24 at 11am MST in the auditorium of the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (4750 48 St).

Anyone is welcome to attend the AGM, but only Members are eligible to vote.

Not only do they deliver our vital services and programs with deep care and warmth - but they work hard to make events like our 60th Anniversary Celebration happen!

We were thrilled to welcome several special guests to our 60th Anniversary last Saturday🥳

Senator Paulette Senior - former CEO of YWCA Canada - flew up from Toronto just to celebrate with us. Wow! Senator Senior remains an strong advocate for intersectional gender justice across Canada and around the world. We are inspired by her example and honoured that have had her in attendance.

Mahsı̀ cho to Chief Bertha Rabesca-Zoe for driving down from Behchokǫ̀ to join in the festivities. Thank you to Minister Jay McDonald, MLA Kate Reid, and MLA Shauna Morgan for coming out, as well.☺️

How lucky are we to be surrounded by such an incredible community?!

We are still buzzing with excitement after last Saturday. Thank you to everyone who came out and commemorated our 60 years of service in the Northwest Territories.

Our community is why we do what we do, and we were so happy to be able to celebrate with all of you 💕💕

📣Support survivors of intimate partner and/or family violence📣

Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health is currently hosting its annual "Giving Shelter" campaign and collecting donations for women's shelters across Canada - including ours!

Between September 12 and October 9, customers at Shoppers Drug Mart in Yellowknife can round up their total at checkout. These proceeds will go directly to YWCA NWT's family violence shelter, Alison McAteer House. ❤️

If you want to support this life-saving service, be sure to head into the store before October 9 and round up your total. Donations can also be made at shoppersfoundation.ca/givingshelter.
