Since March 2012, FOXY/SMASH has reached over 7000 youth in communities across the Canadian North through workshops and Peer Leader Retreats. Peer Leader Retreats bring youth together for a week of intensive arts-based leadership training, s*xual and mental health education, and planning youth-driven community projects. FOXY has seen the success of our honest, practical, and real-life approach to

education through extensive evaluation and action-oriented community-based research, and strives to expand to offer our programming to all youth across Canada’s North.

Mahsi Cho to We Matter for inviting us to join their Hope Forum in Yellowknife yesterday ✨ We had the chance to chat with Indigenous youth from across the country and do a good ol’ fashioned FOXY presentation and some activities on STBBI transmission and safer s*x practices! At this time all spots have been filled. You are still welcome to contact Kiera to be added to a waitlist as it is possible that we will have more cancellations. Last chance to join the FOXY Retreat! Due to cancellations, we now have limited availability for our Retreat taking place at Nonacho Lake from July 21st to 29th. This opportunity is open to young women ages 13-17 from the NT, YT and NU. However, due to the last minute nature of these openings some communities may be too rural and remote to book at this time. The Retreat is completely free including travel from your home community. To find out more or to express interest please contact [email protected] or call/text 867-875-8630. **At this time, we only have room for participants who have never been to one of our Retreats as all of our spots for returning participants are full.
At the Retreat, youth will learn about s*xual and mental health, leadership and healthy relationships through art and ceremony. More information on what to expect at a Retreat is available at www.arcticfoxy.com/retreat

Update: Position has been filled! Thanks to all who reached out and shared.

We seek a First Aider for our FOXY Peer Leader Retreat this summer, from July 21-30, 2026 at the amazing Nonacho Lake Fishing Adventures, NWT!

The First Aider has health provider training such as for a nurse, physician, paramedic, or advanced first aid training and hangs out with us for the week at Nonacho Lake, NWT. Their tasks are to provide first aid to participants and staff and to coordinate a medevac with the team that would fly in from Yellowknife, in the very rare case this is required. This is a paid position. Please give FOXY Executive Director Candice a call at 867-444-9108 or send an email to [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to be considered for the role.

This position will remain open until filled (ad will be updated once it is filled). Please share with those who may be interested!
