We know the Mud Run was almost a month ago, we hope you’ve recovered by now!! 😉

Even though it’s been a few weeks, we’d still like to get your opinion on obstacles, if they’re still fresh in your mind!

If you could bring one obstacle back for next year’s CIBC Mud Run, which one are you choosing?

Maybe it was the one you flew through like it was nothing.
Maybe it was the one that completely humbled you.
Or maybe there is one you still have unfinished business with. 😄

Take a look through some of this year’s obstacles and let us know which one deserves another round.

And if there’s something completely different you’d love to see next year, we want to hear that too!

If you saw a yellow or purple vest on Mud Run day, there is a good chance that person was helping make the whole thing happen. 💜

A huge thank you to every volunteer who gave their time to the 2026 CIBC Mud Run.
Some were there before participants arrived. Others were out on the course helping throughout the day. And plenty stayed behind afterward to help wrap everything up.
It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to pull off an event like this, and we truly could not do it without you.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for pitching in. And thank you for helping make this year’s Mud Run such a great day for the community. 🙌

We hope to see many of you back with us next year!

76 teams. 💜

That is how many teams signed up for this year’s CIBC Mud Run.

Seeing that number grow over the past few weeks was pretty amazing. What started quietly turned into team after team joining in as Mud Run day got closer.

Some came ready to compete. Some came to fundraise. Some very clearly came with a plan to win the Best Dressed prize.

Whatever brought your crew together, thank you for being part of it.

To all 76 teams who showed up this year: you helped make the 2026 CIBC Mud Run what it was. 🙌

for spending part of your day with us at CIBC Mud Run. 💜

You showed up ready and brought the Irish energy with you.

Having students there made a real difference, and it was great to see you getting involved in something that means so much to the community.

We know giving up your time on a weekend is a big ask, so please know it was genuinely appreciated.

Thank you to the Class of 2027 and to École St. Patrick High School for being part of the day with us and all the best in your final year! 🙌

A very special thank you to John Stephenson from the Yellowknife Ski Club, who once again took the lead on parking for this year’s CIBC Mud Run. 💜

As Facilities Director, John puts a huge amount of work into coordinating the parking areas before the event even begins. Each year he works with Yellowknife Education District 1 to bring in volunteers, gets everyone set up, manages the flow throughout the day and somehow fits a few hundred vehicles into two pretty small parking areas.

It is one of those jobs that most people probably do not think about unless something goes wrong, and John makes sure it doesn’t.

A big thank you as well to the YK1 parking volunteers who were out there directing vehicles and helping keep everything moving smoothly from the moment people arrived. 🙌

John, thank you for taking this on year after year and for all the work that happens behind the scenes to make Mud Run day run so well.

📣 An Important Fundraising Update 📣

Sometimes even the best spreadsheets miss an important detail…

After reviewing our fundraising results, we realized that one of the participant’s information was missing from the spreadsheet used to determine our Highest Child/Youth Fundraiser.

We sincerely apologize to Rian Lush, who raised an incredible $1,290 and is the correct recipient of our Highest Child/Youth Fundraiser Award! 👏🎉

These young fundraisers were all so close:

🥇 Rian Lush — $1,290
🥈 Shanli Carlson — $1,170
🥉 Myla Chorostkowski — $1,120

Because this was our administrative error, and because Shanli had already been announced as the recipient, both Rian and Shanli will receive a $300 Canadian Tire gift card and a Mud Run hoodie.

Myla will still receive the Overlander gift card and a Mud Run hoodie in recognition of her fundraising achievement.

Together, these three young people raised an amazing $3,580! 💜

We are truly sorry that Rian was missed in our original announcement. Congratulations to Rian, Shanli and Myla—and thank you for the incredible effort, and community spirit you brought to this year’s CIBC Mud Run! 👏👊 Keep up the great work young ladies, and to all the youth who participate in the annual CIBC Mud Run event! We hope to see you again next year!

We were thrilled to welcome members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the Northwest Territories—Yellowknife G Division—to the CIBC Mud Run for the first time this year. They came out in full force (pun absolutely intended 😉)—and in uniform! 👏👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

The team served as our official cleanup crew—AKA our final runners—making sure no participant was left behind on the course. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for joining us and taking on such an important role. We hope to see you back next year! 👏👊

We also heard that the RCMP challenged the City of Yellowknife Fire Division…but we didn’t spot any firefighters on the course this year! 🤔😮

Challenge officially issued for 2027! We hope Yellowknife Fire answers the call—and perhaps Joint Task Force North / Force opérationnelle interarmées Nord will join the friendly rivalry too! 🫵 Who’s ready to get muddy for a great cause?

🎉 WE DID IT—TOGETHER! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, donors, participants, volunteers and the entire community, the Run for Our Lives 2026 CIBC Mud Run was an amazing success! 🏃‍♀️💦🙌

While we are still tallying the final numbers from this year’s event, we already know something truly exciting:

🎗️ WE HAVE EXCEEDED OUR $600,000 CAMPAIGN GOAL! 🎗️

This campaign began in 2024 with an ambitious goal of raising $600,000 to fund four pieces of cancer-related equipment for Stanton Territorial Hospital:

💜 One Breast Ultrasound
💜Two Automated Endoscope Reprocessors
💜 One Colposcope Examination Chair

Every registration, donation, pledge, sponsorship, raffle ticket and muddy step helped carry us across that finish line. Money raised in the North stays in the North—and together, we are supporting cancer diagnosis, treatment and care Close to Home.

We cannot begin to thank everyone who helped make Saturday happen. From the committee members and volunteers who spent countless hours planning, building, hauling, soaking, organizing and cleaning, to our generous sponsors and donors—and every participant who climbed, crawled, slipped, laughed and conquered the course—you made this possible!
