Would you love to share Yarmouth’s cultural history with local folks and visitors to the town? Do you like to chat with people about our area? Would you like to share stories from the families who moved here from other countries. We are looking for students who aren’t shy! Are you interested in arts, culture and heritage? Learn more about the Holocaust at The Harbourfront Museum this summer. Fredericka Fluss was a Holocaust survivor who settled in Yarmouth and owned the Coffee Pot candy store on Cliff Street where Mariners on Main is located today. Sol Gilis escaped Lithuania and made his way to Yarmouth via Scotland with his lovely wife Ruth. Sol designed the Yarmouth tartan and many others. Visit the Harbourfront Museum to learn more about our multicultural history.

The Harbourfront Heritage Society is pleased to present the unveiling of the new Canadian Lebanese Club of Yarmouth Exhibit. We thank the Halifax Lebanese Society for their generous donation and Grant Murray Designs for the creation of the exhibit and continuous support to the museum. Thanks to Greenlight Studios for filming the event.

It’s been an amazing summer and we are now closed. Thanks to all of our visitors and staff. We were very fortunate to have Ruth Gilis visit and view the exhibit about her family as did members of the Pink Family. Our board will be busy during the fall and winter working on research and new exhibits. Thanks so much to our generous donors and the Provincial and Federal Government grants which keep us operating. Donations can be made via etransfer at [email protected]. Tax receipts will be provided. Help us continue telling the stories of our multicultural past.
