🏒 Coaching Announcement 🏒
YCMHA is pleased to announce that Nick Bourque has been named Head Coach of the U13AAA Western Region team for the 2026–27 hockey season. Nick has spent the past two seasons behind the bench with the Yarmouth U11AA Mariners, leading the team to a Provincial Championship in 2025. That same year, he was recognized as the recipient of the Hockey Nova Scotia Coach of the Year Award.Congratulations, Nick,We wish you and the Western Region program the very best of luck in the upcoming season! 👏🏒

‼️‼️The U15 Major tryout process starts on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. This is the first day of the Spring ID Camp. After the conclusion of this camp:
• Up to 25 players will be added to the O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes’ Protected List
• These players are automatically invited to Phase 1 of the tryout process that starts in September
• an additional 15 players can be added to the roster throughout the tryout process, either right from the start of Phase 1 or added in as the team moves through the process
• A total of 40 players are allowed to be part of the tryout process for a U15 Major team
• This means that U15 Major tryouts are by “invitation only” if a player is not added to the Protected List during the Spring ID Camp
• If your player is interested in playing for the U15 Major team or gauging their abilities at this level, attending the Spring ID Camp is required

YCMHA would like to recognize four former Yarmouth Mariners who have been selected to attend Hockey Nova Scotia’s High Performance Summer Camp this July. Hundreds of athletes attend the identification camps each year with hopes of advancing to this stage. Congratulations to Makayla Bain, Milana d'Entremont, Olivia Sweeney and Claire Wallace on this achievement! 🏒👏

The game isn't possible without the officials in stripes. 🦓

A big shout out to Yarmouth's Camden Churchill and Jesse Churchill who were a big part of our 2026 Minor U13 AAA Provincial Championship in Berwick over the weekend. 🏆

These young officials brought professionalism and respect to their roles each time they stepped on the ice.

Thanks to all our officials for their work this weekend.

This is a huge accomplishment and a big moment for young officials. The U15AA Mariners had a great showing at Provincials in Glace Bay this weekend! While they narrowly missed advancing to the playoffs, the team played hard and represented themselves, their coaches, and our community with pride. A special shoutout to Seb d'Entremont and Levi Nickerson on being named to the Second All-Star Team, what an incredible achievement! Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff on a great season. 👏🏒
